Alright so...

After putting 2500kms in the last 3 weeks of riding, I'm tempted with a dilemma.

I love the SV650S, in city its FUCKIN AMAZING, plenty of torque to move, but on the highway..... well lets say... I'm left wanting more.

1st: I'm a big guy, not some small 5'-8" 150lbs little man... more like 6'-0" 240lbs.
2nd: I love random acceleration just for the thrill of feeling all the torque.
3rd: I like maneuverability in city and on highway, especially when sudden avoidance and lane splitting.

When I initially started shopping for a bike, I really wanted a Z1000, SV1000S, FZ1, VTR, etc, etc.....

But, I settled for a ~600cc after hearing many people saying "oh ,don't buy a 1000cc, you'll kill yourself" *blah* *blah* *blah* and insurance was cheaper too on a 600cc compared to a 1000cc.

Well, I bought this particular SV cuz of the deal I got on it. It had very low kms (>5000kms), only 1 year old and came with a 1 year warranty. Plus a very low negotiated price. It also helps to shop for a bike back in January-February when bike sales are terrible and you got CASH $$$$

I'm not a track junkie nor a curves whore.... yet..... I'm more of a highway, quick acceleration at any speeds without dropping more than a gear or two (130km/h +), etc, etc... type of guy.

My SV is completely stock and well here's my dilemma:

I can either:

start putting money into the SV to get it to look, sound and act like the way I want it to. It would then look nice and personal but in the end, performance would still be what it is now or if anything only slightly better. Then loose 90% of money invested when it comes time to sell it.

or

I sell the SV now, at the beginning of the season when bike sales are up and get a 1000cc which will most probably keep me happy for a few more months to come :D

I usually get bored of things (and girls :p) fast, I'm not the type of person who says "I'm going to keep this thing until it dies on me" I love to buy shit cheap and once bored, sell it for sometimes a profit.

The longest I've ever kept a car is like 1-1.5 years at the most, even the one's that I loved and always have a place in my heart (My Passat) but eventually a change is needed.

Since this is my first bike, we'll see how my bike history goes.

But what I need from you guys is:

Your opinion/suggestions/comments on what I should do.

I'm leaning towards moving on, but I wanna hear it form a neutral party.

I know I could possibly loose some money, but I don't think its a big deal.

I know I won't get the same type of maneuverability if I went to a 1000cc, but I don't think its a big deal.

I'm not interested in a sport bike purely for plate + insurance prices.

If you know of someone who's selling a 1000cc for a decent price let me know.

Thanks for reading and any inputs you provide (positive and/or negative) *tu*

I would trade it in, or sell it and buy another one.. no point in investing if there is no substantial return and not much of an increase of personal happiness (you're not getting any quicker...)

I'd say go for a 1000. I'm not sure if you want to buy new but at Motosport Newman they had a F'ing beautiful Z1000 (2008, green) dirt cheap with 0km. I was wanting to get it until i got my insurance quote :yikes:. Don't know if they still have it, their site is currently down.

for the straightline quick ride: sell and buy a more powerfull bike.

well..buy the more powerfull out there: busa, Z14r...that way you'll get bored very fast and you'll get out of the motorcycle world fast too :|

learn to have fun in curve...that's where the fun is ;) and an SV is one of the next best thing out there!

sport-touring: get an FZ1. way better than any other imo.
