End of the motor project : Winter 04-05 !

I tought of doing like last year, keeping you guys informed of what is happening with my engine (See post : It has begun) ! Some peoples were interested and tought of doing it for this winter too !

Ok, first of the car is at HT Turbotech, (www.htturbotech.com). Very good guys, very good knowledge and good background (see their web site for detail). The shop was highly recomended by Adam (323 - miata - Suby) and I can see why !!

Target :
Street set-up : 15-16 psi with 300whp +
Race : 500hp (engine HP) (Won't use it much, but its just a barrier I want to brake, no one EVER made more than 460-470 hp on a j-body )

Lost will be done this winter, here is the breakdown :

Transmission :
-Swap for a getrag transmssion
-Cryotreated gears
-Differentiel Quaife
-Axels level 3 500hp (driveshaftshop.com)
-Bully clutch stage 3
-Fidanza Flywheel aluminium (8 lbs)
-B&M short shifter

Turbo stuff :
-Turbo mitsubishi (Reason : Very small yet capable of very high boost)
-Turbonetics wastegate
-Custom exhaust manifold en stainless 316L et collecteur en SS 321
-Custom downpipe
-52 lbs/hrs Injectors
-Walbro fuel pump
-Front mount intercooler up&down flow
-3" exhaust en stainless steel
-Polished aluminium piping
-BOV (Not sure which one yet !)

Engine Stuff :
-AEM EMS custom install (Adapt wiring harness to AEM EMS plug (none avaliable for my car), and adapt all sensor output voltage range)
-Upgraded ignition system (Coils, wires, ...)
-Relocated battery to trunk !

15psi for the street...yeah thats enough.. seems like one nice setup you'll be runnin. What size turbo is that? Its a td04?

I know ! That is the only thing I am affraid off ! Gonna see if there is anything to do to reduce it if it is a big problem.

Custom intermidiate shaft+custom driveshaft... that's about the only thing I can think of right now.

félicitations Luc je tadmire... tas les couilles pour aller a fond dasn un projet special...jai hate de voir ca lan prochauin a Napi! *tu*

Just bought those axels for 1200$ US, won't change them ! Would not be really feasible since the way the axels are dirrectly inserted into the differential (No hanger, ..) so it would be really hard to do what you are talking about. My best bet is to develop strong arms and compensate !

C'est bien de voir à quel point vous pensez à tout. Bravo!

Seul détail, des injecteurs 52lb/min (550cc) sont insuffisants pour produire 500HP. Et quel turbo Mitsubishi allez vous utiliser? Et pour les J-body de 500HP, y'a pas des Sunfire dans la série Nopi qui roulent dans le 7? Y doivent ben faire plus de 500HP pour rouler ça, non? Veux-tu dire J-body NON Ecotec?

Pour le "torque steer", la meilleur façon de le combattre est en travaillant sur ta suspension. Des bons bushings en euréthane pour la suspension et pour les supports de moteur aident beaucoup. Un bon rate de spring avec des bons amortisseurs qui vont avec. En plus du torque steer, le wheel hop est très destructeur pour un FWD puissant.

Also for torque steer the closer to equal length axles you have the better it is;)

C'est la premiere chose a laquelle j'ai penser moi aussi!

T'a besoin de~ 720cc pour ton HP Goal, donc disont des 72Lbs/Hrs
 
toi tu toi etre le dieu de tout les gars de jbody. Tes projets sont toujours tres tres intriguant :bigup: Felicitations pis continue d'etre different des autres :bigup:
