Exotic and High-End Car-Sharing Club : Anything like this in Quebec?

Amazing club structure. DO WE HAVE THIS IN MONTREAL?

You pay a one-time $15,000 fee, then $15,000/year... to have access to approximately 30 days / year of driving among several high-end and exotic models. The club keeps a ratio of 1 car for 6 members.

The club has approximately 100 cars, with an average price of $US 200K per car...

Some of the models:
Lotus Elise
Ferrari F430
Ferrari 360 Spider
Aston Martin Vanquish V12
Lamborghini Gallardo
Lamborghini Murcielago
BMW Z8
...

Members enjoy an extraordinary automobile collection on demand, without the expense, time and inconvenience of traditional ownership. The club owns, stores, insures, and maintains the automobiles, and has them ready for the Members to enjoy when they want them.

I like the idea.

I've been discussing with some friends for about 10 years about doing this on a small-scale basis. 3 guys, 6 cars (3 special cars, 3 good daily drivers).

We talked about it recently, we'd get an Elise for the track / open top, a 993 TT for raw power and track, and some kinda huge diesel truck to tow our boats and haul the cars to the track. For the daily drivers we'd do something like my Pulsar GTi-R, my buddy's tuned STI in a wagon body, and we'd add in an S4 sedan.

Best of everything, all AWD cars for the winter, all fun stuff for the weekends, split the cost of ownership and maintenance, registrations and all.

Our basis was the fact that owning a 993 to myself would be expensive to insure and maintain for the little use it would get. Same for a 3/4 ton truck with a nice diesel engine, I need that 4 to 8 times per year only. Same for an Elise, I'd like that once in a while but not every weekend. Combine between 3 people and we have a good mix, and all the cars get enough use to be worth their depreciation. Some day it might happen, we're still considering it.
 
sign me up!

I looooooooooooooooooooooooove driving all sorts of cars and always want to try my friend's cars and let them drive mine. Problem is I don't have an exotic or high end car lol
 
It's a very good idea if it covers insurance, if the cars are available on short notice and if the km are not too limited...even if 30 days is really not that much

If I ever get out of the car business I'll consider renting high end cars instead of buying or leasing. With the climate we have here leasing or buying an exotic makes no sence, you pay 30K+ a year in fees or depreciation to drive it maybe 60-90 days during summer.

That's not entirely true, depending on the car. I have a buddy who traded in his F360 for an F430, and he says over the two years of ownership his F360 lost only about 4k$. Demand is high, these cars still sell for pretty much their new value. That's less depreciation than most anything on the road for 2 years.

Of course the problem is insurance. He only insures them for the months when he drives them, and that's incredibly expensive, I think he told me over 3k$ per month in his case.

You're very right about renting it though, if you're only going to "need" it for a couple weekends, speding 10k$ on rentals during your summer is a LOT less than insurance, maintenance and ownership. *tu*
 
J'y ai déja penser et j'en ai parler a plusieurs personne mais moi c'était plus pour des sea doo, bateau, motocross etc...

Après en avoir parler a plusieurs personne je me suis rendu compte que c'était pas possible car certains disais oui mais tel personne conduit pas bien, tel personne prend pas aussi soins que moi de ces choses...

bref j'ai vite compris que ca fonctionnerait pas... mais le concept est génial!!
 
Your friend got lucky, I was thinking more of entry level exotics: Viper, Z06, 911, etc.

What if you get in an accident with YOUR exotic, watch the value plummet.
 
they had/have it here but it was very exclusive like 15 places. it was called rpm club. just not sure if its still around.

they also had an option that if you wanted a week more with a car you liked it would cost 5000$ extra

Expresscar exotics offer such a club apparently (that's what their website says) but no details on pricing

I think it's a great idea, but it needs to offer limited membership so that people can get access to the cars, but at the same time, a fee that is high enough to cover the insurance and the price of cars, but low enough to have the optimal membership number
 
It exists in montreal. My friend is a member. Ill get more info if necessary.
He can drive : F430 /991 turbo 07/ford gt/lambo gallardo/viper/ +2 or 3 more.
it is located in mtl.

i think that's different !! It's actually in Mont-Tremblant, if i'm not wrong !!! U can drive all those cars for a weekend. but only once, each car !!!They have 9-10 cars ! ...and it costs around 4000$ !!!

One thing that botter me. If they keep a ratio of 1 car for 6 people, how come you don't have more like 50-60 days to drive those?

I would be happy with ''just'' cars like Lotus Elise, Corvette, 911, M Z4, etc...

those cars have to go through repairs, oil changes and stuff. Also, i don't know exactly how they work with the hours, but you don't bring a car back, and it goes out right after with someone else.

Its to control the mileage on the cars.

Do you guys realize that even ignoring the 15 000$ initial fee, it comes out to 500$ per day + expenses.
 
Quelqu'un a un autre site que express car exotics pour les locations de véhicules de prestige?

J'avais appelé sako leasing(je ne trouve plus leurs site) qui m'avait référé une compagnie où ils faisaient la location de véhicules de prestige avec transmission manuelle. Une boxster était 600$/semaine, 2000$/mois et j'avais eu un meilleur deal parce que je voulais louer 4 mois...6000-6500$ total avec assurances si ma mémoire est bonne. J'étais pret à signer mais le seul problème était que j'avais genre 22-23 ans et que leurs assurances ne pouvaient assurer les moins de 25 ans même avec une surprime.
