Lol typical. Ferrari loses, they bounce and create a series were they can dominate again. hahah

Actually, quite the opposite.

Their usual behaviour would be to sign in with the FIA, and be the only major team left, and therefore be sure to win the championship.

To side with the other manufacturer is actually a good thing they did this time.

isn't it funny how as soon as FOTA split apart the FIA immediately start talking to Montreal to bring back the Grand Prix?

Bernie isn't stupid he wants to make sure FOTA will never race in Montreal, that's it that's all. But will a brand without Ferrari, McLaren and the others work in Montreal?

I won't be buy tickets... Nascar is gaining ground this year since it's the only race at the track and will be on a cup off weekend so Cup drivers will be there... IMO it's a test for Nascar and I expect them to bring a Sprint Cup race here for 2011

While FOTA might not race in Montreal.. Toronto will open the doors to them. Toronto has been drooling for a top level international race for years.

Well now that this is over, lets get Montreal back....

F1 peace deal agreed ? Mosley - F1 | ITV Sport

A breakthrough deal has been reached that will prevent Formula 1 splitting in two, FIA president Max Mosley has said.

Following a meeting of the governing body’s World Motor Sport Council in Paris on Wednesday, Mosley said a new approach to cost-cutting had been agreed and that the FOTA teams had now dropped plans to start a breakaway championship.

“There will be no split,” said Mosley.

The best of ALL is that Mosley will not run for re-election. Now, all we need is for Bernie to say bye-bye as well.

In the end, Montezemelo and Ferrari win proving that F1 is Ferrari. This may open the door for Jean Todt to be the new president of the FIA.

I'd like to see the F1 series as the top level of cars. I think the teams should be allowed to make the car that they want and be able to spend however much they want to spend. If the smaller teams can't hang, then why are they trying to race in the top level of motor sports.

FOTA is going farther than ever with this proposal, however Bernie is a shrewd guy... He'll given them some of what they want, and the manufacturer alliance will crumble.

Bernie is a bit like the oil industry - he want the liter to be at 1,10$, so he raises the price to 1,50$, creates a rukus, then "backs down" and sets the price to 1,15$ "as a compromise position".

Bernie's not out of it just yet.

What's is The Hives used to sing? Oh yeah... "Hate to say I told you so!"

:)

That sort of shit happens every 3 to 5 years in F1. This time it was not that different.

And forget Montreal. It's gone, and it's never coming back. If it ever comes close, it will be Toronto. But if you are coming to North America and going to Half-American city, why not go to a full american city? Something like Long Beach could come back. It would make so much more sense.
