Canadiantiremotorsportpark.com: Muscle Milk HPD Racing driver Klaus Graf of Germany gave himself a birthday present by winning the pole for the third consecutive year for the Mobil 1 presents The Grand Prix of Mosport. He set the pace with a best lap time of 1:06.486. Graf will co-pilot the Honda Performance Development LMP1 with fellow countryman, Lucas Luhr.

Corvette Racing driver Jan Magnussen won the pole for the highly competitive GT class, setting a track record in the process with a fast lap of 1:15.478. The Danish racer looks to continue his success at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park after winning the GT class in 2011.

The races held this weekend were the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge, Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin, Cooper Prototype Lites and the Canadian Touring Car Championship.

Barrie native Kyle Marcelli finished first as an unclassified driver. Carlos de Quesada won in Platinum Cup, Chris Green finished on top in Gold Cup and Bob Seitz of 6[SUP]th[/SUP] Gear Racing was the winner in Silver Cup.

What a great weekend. HT8 and Mosport GP all at the same location. Here are my highlights:

Huge thrill for me to give the "start your engines" order for the Sat GT3 Cup race.

Kyle Marcelli smoked the rest of the field in every race and he was just a guest driver. It was unbelievable how much faster he was.

nice, so that was you with the start your engines, lol
the gt3 canada race #1 on saturday was sick, that PCO car (etienne bourget?) was moving hard and aggressive

the lemans race had a great finish with the patron ferrari scraping past the vette on the last lap, that shut up all the redneck vette fans in their corral hahaha, bad luck for the bimmers though... i was hoping for a podium finish so i could be up there with them! ah well, next year

for all that have never been to the lemans, i highly recommend it, even MORE than the F1, if you actually love racing and not the "event" mosport is the place to be *tu* paddocks are accessible to the public, everyone is friendly, the track is SICK with a 3 story drop at one turn, and the support races are real exciting too... parking is on site and hassle free, you can set up to watch the race from any corner on the track, either infield or outfield, there's courtesy shuttles to take you to whatever turn you wanna go, food is decently priced, and you can even camp out on the track if that's your thing

sound guide:

the italias sound amazing! high pitched ferrari symphony at its best
bmw's are wonderful too, nice melodic mid-range notes
lotus is badass backfiring and just brutish all around
porschies sound sweet whistling all sorts on breaking/downshifting

vettes sound like giant american farts, disgusting, loudest on track, an assault on the senses *td*

p1/p2 cars were surprisingly quiet, but cool

Pour votre information, les voitures P1 freinent 3 fois par tour seulement! :)

Dans le 3, le 5A et le 9. Ça en dit long!

Yes! I will post the video of the dive bomb of Etienne into me into corner 10. What a shame, I was first all race long, qualified 1st and he fucked my championship.

In race 2, starting 7th was not easy when you have to think that we started the race on slicks but the track was completely damp! It was impossible to pass outside of the drying race line for the first 15 minutes. It took me 8-9 laps to be able to pass Perry Bortoloti, he was blocking me everywhere. I had to make a pass outside in corner 8, where he would have never thought I would try. Then there was 5-6 laps left in the race and I closed the gap to 2 seconds with Etienne but the race was over.

Qualification, pole position!

Error in corner 2 and 10 wich slowed me down for a good 0.5 second.

very cool vid, thanks for sharing jf!
i was gonna post the bmw parade lap we did so people can see the track from the driver's perspective but there's no point now lol
