i ave a question for those that know
just curious
if i brought my guitar to a shop and asked them to 'lower the action' (i heard someone call it this ) pretty much to lower the strings on the fretboard from the bridge
would they charge me, and if so how much around?
TIA *tu*

What's your reason to do so in the first place?

It's just gonna cause more vibrations on the fretboard... Ibanez actions are really low as it is...

i played a friends guitar and it feels much better lower
also it will always vibrate (except when the amp is on and loud) so it wont bother me much
my action is also pretty high too, harder to play

Not necessarilly... it depends how much bow his guitar's neck has.

anyone know wtf a ghost note is
thanks
your action is already pretty low, but call musicircle and ask them how much it is.
a ghost note is a note you play that you can hardly hear. it kinda adds to the feel of the flow. hard to explain it in writing.

on another note... who is gunna buy my guitar amp ??

lol, i wanna try it out, if it sounds good, i'll buy it dude (and then i'll sell it to wade for twice the price ;))

it can be easily done yourself, but depending on how big the change is, u might have to finely adjust ur intonation as well.

You can find plenty of faqs on the net on ur guitar's specific model type. Just need a screw driver ot allen key and ur set

Lower action will ease fast playing. But the guitar neck needs to be done right otherwise it will buzz like $@%^. On higher end guitars I can get 1/16 action and no buzz. On my strats, its 1/8.

Pick ups need to be lowered too and if you lower more than 1/8 you might need to do some intonation adjustments.

Higher action gives you better tone.. but makes it hard to play.. unless you play chords only.

i figure, for him learning, it'll be better with a higher action since it forces him to be more specific with ihs fingerings, i lowered my action and it's still higher than his, and it helped me learn properly :dunno:
