nice surprise this morning. the 20 is now 70 the whole way into Montreal.

Mass anarchy and many accidents on the way i'm sure. Everyone is going to stick to 110, and the one person doing 70 is going to get destroyed.

Update: Video:

Here are the signs... first warning at 1:01, actual signs at 1:22.

yeah, I read the sign posted on the highway the other day. F***ing retarded. It's not like something all of a sudden happened to warrant it. They justified Decarie by saying it has no proper shoulder and it has a lot of short merging on/off ramps. WTF is the justification for highway 20?

that is fucking bullshit.

they want more money in their pockets. it's more dangerous than anything... because speed doesn't kill, differentiation in speed does.

c'est de la marde....ils vont attendre 2-3 ans et ensuite ils vont installer un photo radar comme sur décarie et se remplir les poche

This is horrible news are you guys sure? Notice how no where on the news did they mention it, if this is true, this is horrible.

Yeah, I drove it yesterday... pulled on at 55th and immediately responded with a WTF. Basically with the creation of the bus lane, there is no shoulder which somehow warrants the 70kph.

ighway 20 reserved bus lane. Eastbound only: On shoulder, from 55th Ave. to 1st Ave. in Lachine. STM bus routes affected: 211, 221, 747.

Srry , but i think its old news guys . Cuz from 55 av there is always limit 70km/h if nobody knew that !!! i was there ystday and yeah , they put new signs but the limit was always 70km/h in thiz zone . start from 55 av till end of 720 . from ile perrot to 55 av is the same 100km/h .

Never really take that stretch of highway. I'm still furious.

x2. This is horrendous. I can imagine that people still won't give two shits about that limit and will continue to do 100 km/h like they do at Decarie. Either that or the government will receive nice stacks of complaints.

Still going to go 160 like I've done for years without ticket.

My guess is it's because of Mercier. If they didn't announce it then it can't be official/long term, which contributes to the idea of it being because Mercier is causing too much traffic!

I guess I'll take the 40 from now on!
