how much should an alignment cost (for all 4 wheels)

I noticed that most places seem to only do the 2 wheels if you don't ask and prices are usually $40-50ish

have you gotten a real alignment (all 4 wheels) and how much did you pay, and where?
 
If I'm not mistaken, you're looking for a place that does 4 wheel drives to have all 4 wheels done, and its not cheap..

I dont understand how they could just do 2 wheels though, alignment needs all 4 wheels to be done all the time..
 
that's odd,
everytime i went for an alignment they always did all 4 wheels. i never had to specify that it's 4 wheels. they just do it automatically. and yea it cost me about 50$.

On your car its somewhat old, with solid rear axles you have to use shims to adjust caster, camber and toe. These set behind the hub. Also on your car to set the camber/caster in front its adjusted by cams on the control arm which are most likely sized, if not they are adjustable by shims and most likely the bolts are siezed in place. If they arent its still a bitch align old cars. Very labour intensive, id only set the toe and thats it.

Shims and labour arent included in the price it can get to be very expensive

Thats not true at all you can align just the front on any car. Some cars will specify a front alignment only, but its best to do the 4 wheels.

Ill only align the 2 front only if the guy is in a giant rush or my boss is on my case.

Personally id go see gabris they seem to the "guys" they understand the older cars.
 
Garbis is under $90 for a 4wheel alignment. That was 3yrs ago.

Shouldn't go cheap on an alignment.
