After much anticipation and official spy photos, a picture of what is apparently the new Jaguar F-Type fully uncovered has finally hit the web, showing Jag’s return to two-seat sports cars in the flesh.
At its base, the car comes with a 380-hp 3.0-liter supercharged V6, but the F-Type R will offer a monstrous 5.0-litre V8 with 550 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque. Looking primarily to take on the Porsche 911, the F-Type uses a lightweight aluminum chassis and an eight-speed transmission to off the sportiest experience possible.
The car will originally be offered as only a two-seater convertible, although a coupe variant will likely be available some time after the cars mid-2013 on sale date. Although the F-Type had a public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, next week’s 2012 Paris Motor Show is the first official showing of the car without camo.
The car seen in the picture does look somewhat different from what he have seen in spy photos, especially the angular looking front end. Odds are that Jaguar didn’t want the full design revealed by its prototype cars.
