No more manual transmission on future Lambo's. It's over.

This should start with the introduction of the Gallardo replacement.

" You can count on next year's replacement for the now-8-year-old Gallardo to come only with an automated transmission. "

Just 1 to 2 percent of the cars rolling out of the company's small Sant'Agata Bolognese factory are equipped with three pedals, Reggiani says.

A manual transmission, explains the R&D director, is a break in the electronic chain of command that harmonizes absolutely everything that happens between engine combustion chamber and tire contact patch. The only way Lamborghini can guarantee soothing smoothness in city driving or back-thumpingly explosive acceleration on a winding road is for every system in the car to be interconnected. You can't rely on a driver to always shift gears without glitches, Reggiano says. But you can count on next year's replacement for the now-8-year-old Gallardo to come only with an automated transmission.

aslong as the R8 V10 can come with a manual, it's all good.

not that I'd ever be able to afford one anyways.

Merde...

That's what happens when Audi owns you.

i disagree. The article states that only 1-2% of their sales are manual. There is no point in building something that only 1% of your clientele will buy.

If anything "That's what happens when customer's stop buying manual cars."

Its not the company that made the decision, its the customers that forced them to do it.

It's all nice for them to say "its to get the fastest shift possible, bla bla bla (insert useless tech info) " , but it what it comes down to is money and what 99% of their customers want.

Still, I am sure some customers will be pissed. And with such a high-priced specialized luxury good, I would think that they would not want to piss off those customers.

My dream car is a Lambo Gallardo with a manual transmission. (acutally a Carrera GT but I'll never be able to afford one) That won't happen for a good little while, but it blows that I would have to buy one automatic.

I could be wrong, but isn't the Aventador "automatic" only? They're talking about the Gallardo replacement, but I thought the Aventador was already only available with an automated transmission.
