So I went to my Toyota dealer yesterday to place an order for a LC LC trim (w/o premium pack). I wanted to wait until I could sit in one and see it in person before committing.

And wouldn’t you know it the exact spec I’m ordering was in the lot! But spoken for, unfortunately.

I’m glad I got to see it in person though, it confirmed that this color (brown sugar metallic) is awesome and that the LC LC trim is the way to go. I sat in a 1958 and the 8” screen and sea of hard plastics was hard to swallow in a $73k car. The $7k upcharge for the LC trim is well worth it IMO. The LCLC actually feels like an $80k vehicle.

The truck is sick in person and build quality is top notch as you’d expect from a Japanese made vehicle. I hope it doesn’t take a year before mine arrives!

No markups or BS add-ons either, MSRP plus standard $599 doc fee.

seems like there is a mass shortage of parts on the 4Runners, expect a delay

The leak was that production of the 4runner was delayed because parts were allocated to LC/GX production. So it would seem like Toyota sacrificed the launch of the 4R to sustain a higher production rate on the LC.

But I’m going into this knowing it will be a while. There are 8 orders ahead of me at this particular dealer and the vast majority are for the LC Premium package.

Also, don’t mind getting a bit of a later production vehicle in case some kinks need to be ironed out.

If Toyota uses the same allocation system for the Land Cruiser as with the GR Supra, I would suggest putting down a deposit at more than one dealer, trying to target dealers in areas where the Land Cruiser might be less popular. This will increase the odds of getting the configuration you want and/or decrease the waiting time.

Hard plastic yeah but in my previous 2013 Rav4 LE, with so much hard plastic in it,well, I didn't have a single rattle. Even my current 2017 rav4 SE hybrid which is the aame generation of my 2013...not a single rattle. Toyota inside are well made, my parents are with their 4th Tacoma, not à single rattle...

Thanks for the tip, I think the LC will be more widely available as it will be produced in much higher number. How many supras do dealers get each year? I think dealers are getting 6-7 LCs this year and the manager was hoping for more next year.

Yes, it will be more widely available than the Supra. However, dealers don’t choose what they receive. Out of the 6-7 they receive, there’s no guarantee one will match the colour and specs you want.

Pas mal ca oui. Quand j'ai regardé pour une gr86, manuelle, base, ca laisse juste une chance sur 24 que quand ils en reçoivent une comme je voulais. c'est mieux d'aller mettre des dépôts un peu partout malheureusement.
