I love browsing Hebdo and checking prices for no particular reason. Just for fun I decided to check out how many Acura NSXs were for sale and what the prices were. I mean who knows, will these cars start appreciating like we've been seeing with older Porsche Carreras?

Some background info which might be useful for some users. The NSX was available in North America from from 1991-2005. Beginning in 1995, the NSX-T with a removable targa top was introduced and replaced the standard coupe entirely in North America as the only version available from 1995-2002. All NSXs from those years were in targa form with the notable exceptions of the Zanardi Special Edition NSX in 1999 and a handful of special order units.

In 1997, Honda introduced the NSX's biggest performance upgrades for all its worldwide markets. Engine displacement increased from 3.0 L to 3.2 L along with a 20 HP boost except for the 4-speed automatic model which retained its 3.0 L engine and 252 hp power output. Another big change was the adoption of a 6-speed manual transmission with closer gear ratios.

In 1999 Acura released the Zanardi Edition which was similar to the Japanese market NSX Type S. Visible differences between the Zanardi Edition and the Type S were the Zanardi's left-hand drive, black leather and suede seats with red stitching, airbag-equipped Acura steering wheel, and a brushed-aluminium plaque with an engraved Acura logo, Zanardi's signature, and a serial number on the rear bulkhead.

In 2002 the NSX received only minor modifications from Honda when the original pop-up headlamps were replaced with fixed xenon HID headlamp units along with slightly wider rear tires to complement a revised suspension. The solid roof was also brought back.

I found seven for sale in Canada. The blue 2005 one from Edmonton represents the best value in my opinion. It's the newest and looks to be the cleanest. Now either the first yellow one is overpriced or the blue one is under priced. The last and cheapest one could also be of interest at that price point but one would have to be careful and inspect the hell out it. Which would you chose?

the blue one. Hands down. Not only its face lifted , 2005, but its also blue and non-targa!!! will gain incredible value.

Yea most likely it will... But c'mon, if your buying an NSX, it better have pop-up headlights!

Update: Looked up all of em, blue one is the way to go.

God that first one is perfect tho... too bad its overpriced.

neither... they are all overprice lol I rather buy an used GTR or a tesla than an Acura.

As much as I like the model and everytime i see one on the road, I cant stop looking at it.. i didn't knew theses cars were going for that much !!! Still thought they were like 40-50k.

they were 30-40 1-2 years ago. 40+ now lol.

The blue one hands down but still they;re all way too expensive.

I like the face lifted versions. They still look relevant today, I find the 1st gens are looking dated but then again a Ferrari 348 looks dated as well. Prices seems to be slowly creeping up as I remember a 91 or 92 could be had for 30k if you looked a few years ago

NSX is a much more refined car than a 964 or even 993. Driving experience is better in the Porsche though! Then again the HVAC system in the Honda works and you won't die from exhaust fumes. From a mechanical point of view the NSX was light years ahead of Porsche and Ferrari. That car had suspension geometry and layout that would only debut in later models of Porsche/Ferrari. It's also super easy to drive and somewhat more forgiving! Mechanical wise much more advance as well! The 911 just had that "thing" called a soul The NSX was designed by people who actually cared about making a car and in a time when Honda was a damn good car company. Porsche is still simpler to work on though.. Changing a timing belt on an NSX isn't really fun...

If buying one just make sure the car never had ANY chassis damage.

To me the NSX will always be Ayrton's car :)

Yup prices seemed to have gone up recently. The model aged very well IMO and maintenance costs seem reasonable

Vintage cars are cool and all, but but with the nice selection of affordable sports cars in the new cars market, I don't see why I would take a 25 year old nsx or 911 for 40k plus instead (and be afraid to drive it because it will lose value...). So for me, modern sport car and some odd and affordable vintage car (like a clean Toyota starlet or an old Mini) for the collection and fun.

Id get an all original early silver one because The Wolf in Pulp Fiction. JDM ones are surprisingly no more expensive than their Acura counterparts.

Vid required to be in thread for that noise and Senna union.

Repost of reposts but this is a High quality (surprising) version:
