Oil buzzer keeps going off

I posted this on the Vortex but nobody has helped me yet, maybe someone here can.

I had an oil leak from the engine in my Fox. It was coming from my oil pressure sensor (on top of the oil filter bracket). I had a spare sensor lying around (which used to be on my 16V GTI) so I put it on. I no longer have a leak, but the oil buzzer keeps going off when ever I rev the engine. I'm guessing it's the wrong sensor, but the buzzer still goes on even if I unplug the wire going to it
Can someone explain this?
thanks

are you sure you replaced the right sensor? there is two sensor on top of the oil filter housing. try unpluging the other to see if it stops the buzzing:bigup:

Yeah, my 16V has 2 sensors, but my Fox only has one. I will replace it with a sensor that comes stock on the Fox. It's just strange that the buzzer will still go off even if I unplug the wire from the sensor. :dunno:

Maybe it goes off even if it's unplugged because it is unplugged.......i mean it's going off because it's not getting a signal or anything........just my thought though:confused:

I though of that too, and I think you're right. I'll let you guys know what happens when I get a new sensor.

Bad sensor. Same thing happened on my car when I first got it. I replaced the sensor on the oil filter housing as well as the one on the side of the head, problem solved.

What oil are you using?

I had a similar problem and we changed to a 20W50 oil, and it's been fine since.

I'm using 10W30, but I'm 100% sure it's the sensor.

my old jetta did that below 25-3000 rpm it was so annoying especially with no radio !! i changed all the sensors, even the oil type, even the valve cover gasket, and eventually unpluged it.. ...nada.. damn jetta

if im not mistaken there are 3 different colour sensors, one brown another blue and i think one black or white, all for different years. try to ground the wire to see what happens.:dunno:

Grounded, it works :D (just a temporary fix though)
Thanks Adam

my golf has just started to do the same buzzing. it doesn;t do it when youjust start it an dafter like 15 minutes of driving it comes on until you rev it up to 3K and it disappears.
