Apparently it is illegal to park overnight in Pointe Claire I have just discovered. There is no signage at all to this regulation. In fact, the *only* sign I have been able to find on this was located some kilometres away from the area I was given a contravention, on the Autoroute 40 East service road (I was not on the service road, I was parked on a small sidestreet some 2-3 km away), and said signs were so small that I was only able to read the text after slowing dramatically.

I've been looking around at my Code de Securite Routiere briefly and can't find what I am looking for. I need the section that indicates the standards for signage indicating a parking restriction is in effect. Thanks.

Merci!

WTF???

And there's no sign ANYWHERE on the street?

I'm no expert on the matter, but common sense tells me that if there's no sign anywhere, there shouldn't be a problem.

It's a municipal law that applies wether there is a sign or not. I got one too this winter, but in Pierrefonds. Just suck it up and pay the 37$...

During the summer, there are no curfews for parked vehicles, I'm not sure of all the dates and times cars have to be off streets, but basically just before winter a curfew goes into effect, any cars parked on streets after curfew get tickets, the curfew should be lifted any day now for the summer. I think it has something to do with snow removal, I could be wrong :dunno:

ur right

You wont find anything in the CSR about night time parking. It's a municipal by-law. Most cities dont have signs on all streets. They usually have signs when you enter a different district.

municipal websites have info about parking and what not. i think most places its from 3am-6am you cant park.
