This commercial is good for laugh. I always had a thing for the Pontiac 6000 when I was growing up. At what point does a car become old enough to be cool again?

Of course I liked the white LE model.

Not sure if Danny is serious?! 0_o

La seule chose qui a mis dessus en 1 ans et demi c'est une pompe a gaz neuve THAT'S IT!
Good old GM cars... Gotta love'em! haha :D

Pffft I raise you all it's A body sibling.. The Celebrity VR

My aunt had a Celebrity.. It rotted away after 5 years! My dad had a 6000 that was always broken from what I remember, 89 LE y0! Thank god it was a lease and replaced with a 92 Bonneville SSEI.

My step father used to have a 1988 Celebrity Eurosport poilce pack!

Back in those days if you owned a garage you made serious money fixing these clunker American cars.. CV joints, fuel pumps, ignition modules, Ball joints, alternators or the famous trans modulator by pass. W body weren't horrible but that stupid leaf spring rear suspension was always awkward along with the Peugeot rear calipers that never worked..

It's funny how you still see a good amount of these on the roads but nothing late 80s/early 90s GM...

The Accord overtook Taurus sales in the mid 90s once all first gen Taurus were in the junkyard.. The same for GM and Chrysler cans.

The CB7 Accord is the car that put Honda on the map for the normal people in North America. It proved that a car could be reliable and last forever!

at least 15 years after they are too cheap and fragile to be use as a taxi in Montreal so in 4-5 years they should be cool again

There is a 90 year old woman who comes to my work with an 80s 6000 that has something like 10,000kms on it, if not less, in mint showroom condition. It's not a nice looking car, but there's something to be said about how great it looks at that age.

this thread is great. I have an intake manifold and 4 bbl carb for 2.8/3.1 if anyone feels the need to get one of these fuckers. Biggest POS oil pump deaths left right and center, but I still want one. The 2.8 and stroked 3.1 sound funky and the 6000 look odd too.

the 90 year old woman has aged better..

You take a 3.4 V6 outta a 4th gen Camaro... swap in a Edelbrock intake+Holley carb, lumpy cam and dump that into an early A-body car!! ;)

Then the soccer mom in a new Sienna passes you like your standing still...

you remind me of a person that would drive an early 90s Astro around thinking it was the coolest thing ever...

Ben tant mieux pour toi man! :D

Gregster doesn't understand the appeal of cars with character.

As for the whole swap thing, I would never put money into modding an FF car though. that's just stupid. the only way I'd buy a 6000 is finding a fantastic deal in a mint one, drive for a bit, and flip it on the VAQ guys for par or profit.
