I still like the idea of that car. It'll depreciate as fast as any buick and it'll be cheap as chips in no time on the used car market. The old regal gnx of the 2000s was an amazing bargain for the price, and the supercharger was terribly fun to use. It was bulletproof, well equipped, the only letdown was fwd, put people still modified those ridiculously. Very good news to me.
What you guys have to keep in mind is that while I agree buick's name whoring is kind of cheap, they NEED to do it because of their ridiculous reputation for sedative lineups. Unlike dodge which could've actually made a car that looked good without having to prostitude the charger name, buick would've never attracted interest in a sports car unless they used the one few names that they have been faous for. Imagine if lincoln started building a sports car all of a sudden. AFAIK, they had big 500ci v8s in the 60's but they never had a sporty trim, so they couldn't refer to that sporty trim, nor their reputation for sports car. They wouldn't sell one, it'd go Blackwood style on them.
So can't blame GM for trying to put more v8s and ttv6 on the road.
