The Tundra is super nice, I will admit, but just not the qualities I look for in a truck.

I was disappointed that Subaru didn't bring a WRX STi to the show. I know their new WRX was on display, but I would have been happy to see the 2014 STi on the floor for people to check out.
 
Well for me (and probably not for everybody) the 1794 tundra is way too fancy. Its a beautiful truck but i would feel terrible using it for work or covering it in mud. Its probably along the same lines as a King Ranch which has a very specific market. For trucks i liked the new Silverado (was in red), which was rugged and with a lot less frills. Obviously every manufacturer has their premium pickup though, but thats not for me.

What do you look for in a truck that the Tundra lacks (just curious)?

Les mécaniques sont désuete. Ok le 5.7 est puissant mais il consomme ridiculement plus qu'un 5.0 de Ford ou le 5.3 de Gm pour une puissance similaire.
Le look extérieur n'arrive pas a la cheville d'un Ram Sport, d'un FX4 ou d'un All Terrain
L'intérieur (je n'ai pas essayé le 2014) du 2013 était atroce quoique meme en photo l'intérieur 2014 n'a rien d'emballant.

Apres ca on peut ajouter le manque de configuration (les mix de boite 5.8,6.6,8. Le choix de différentiel, pas de HD, etc.

when your buying a 60k truck, i dont think gas millage is on your mind....just saying......

I think reasonable gas mileage is important no matter what.

Another thing I didn't like about the Tundra (regular verison) is the floor console with the shifter. IMO a truck should shift on the column if it's an auto. The whole interior was very Camry-ish IMO.

I agree that gas mileage needs to be good for just about any car (except $150k+ exotics). When I sat in it, I thought I was in a Lexus. It was unbelievable. I kind of like the shifter on the console because I felt like I was in an SUV. For the facelifted 2014 model, hopefully the gas mileage issue has been corrected a little. Thanks for your input.
 
What a fail about this car...... look the rear door. you can't open it !!! Quelle gâchis manque juste les ailes pour décoller. et pour l'avoir vu au Salon de l'auto de Montréal, J'ai été déçus de voir les aile arrière mal sablé avec le reflet de la lumière on aurais dit un manque de finition mais y'a personne qui a remarqué ça? Même pas au SEMA show ? étrange, malgré que j'adore ce modèle.
