I think it looks awesome. It's impossible that any car made in 2010 would be the same size as ones made in the late 80's, early 90's. The "sub-compact" Yaris is much bigger than any 3-cyl Swift/Geo.

Not so true, the yaris is a big 4 inches bigger than a 1.0 geo metro... and the fit is the exact same size as my civic wagon, which was clearly his predecessor (and the fit isn't so much cheaper than the civic, so it's not 100% a category under).
And the mrs (mr2 mk3) was smaller and lighter than the mk2. The cayman isn't bigger than the 944 (not really the same purpose but still), mustang got a bit lighter with the 2011, and probably won't get any bigger.
However it's true that small cars are usually getting bigger (big us cars got smaller by the time), average european small cars are like 4m long (yaris is 3m86 I thing, firefly 3m76), clio 3, grande punto, polo, 207 etc.

But anyways, it's not security feature or anything but styling/marketing decision, that make the newer cars look beefy, and always higher (in height).

It's a shame cuz beefyness adds unwanted weight, kinda like airbags and all the miles of extra wire in our cars nowadays. I couldn't give a damn about an airbag, give me a rollcage and a 4 point harness and i'm good.

¸Airbags are still fine. Just no need for 8 airbag + esp, ebd, abd, traction control, etc.
And extra weight make even more weight, since the car need stronger chassis, bigger brakes, bigger wheels, wider tires (less fue efficiency) and so on.

pourquoi sur le site de spoon ils vendent un s2000 de 110 000 km et toute les scraps jdm au qc ont supposé entre 60-80 000 km ?

Yes, I know some are made smaller, but as you said, cars nowadays (especially commercial ones; i.e. non-performance oriented) are getting bigger and bigger. I remember reading somewhere not too long ago that the Geo Metro's had about the same MPG as a Prius. I'd love to buy a 3-cyl, 55hp car, but they're nowhere to be found (and I'm not talking about the fortwo here, but a "real" car)...

those slotted rotors are interesting, never seen those patterns before anyone know if it's really good?
