News: Spoon testing parts for the CR-Z

False what?

Weak engine, check.
Poor tires, check.
FWD, check.
Soft suspension, check.
Honda has no answer to the Genesis, check.
It is barely a sporty car, check.

If anyone deems the CRZ a sport car they have serious mental health issues.

I wasnt talking about the engine. I was talking about it's sporty feeling which you said there wasnt. WTF comparing the Genesis to an Hybrid car...you must have a serious inferiority complex.

Hey, I didn't say it was bad looking! I find it gorgeous actually. I like it from every angle and the inside is really nice. The Fit platform it is based off, is an excellent platform to work with.

What I have trouble with is that it is a 2 seater, sport compact hybrid that has very "meh" performances.

And any car can be made quick with a turbo kit and 10 000$...

And for the record, I would have never payed 30k for my GC... I purchased it used, for less then what the CRZ will be sold here new.

You wouldnt see me put 10,000$ on that car either. BUT, a little suspension upgrade (like we do on our Fit's) and you've got yourself a nice little "eco" go-kart.

C'est pas une voiture sportive. C'est une voiture hybride sportive. Si quelqu'un ne comprends pas ça, il a un sérieux problème de santé mentale.

Wait, what? Nobody brought up the Genesis other than this fool who had to take at shot at Ronin for not even paying 30k for his 2.0T GT.

Agreed.

In this case, the hybrid in this car is useless considering it barely adds any power and the MPG is pretty poor for a car this size and with its low power numbers.
Until the 918 Spyder gets into production and proves Hybrid cars can also also be Sports car, hybrid will never sit well along any variation of sport.

That's why I didnt quote you on the Genesis part. You have to be brain dead to compare a 2.0T Genesis to a 1.3L Hybrid engine.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the Fit is cheaper, seats 4, as amazing cargo capacity, is only negligibly slower and is probably easier to mod... just doesn't look as cool, oh and it's a 9 year old model car...

I'm pissed at the big Japanese car maker (Honda/Toyota) half-assing their cheaper sporty cars these days... creating hype over their products and then relying on the aftermarket scene from their "baby" tuners (Spoon, Muggen etc) to give us the impression that their car have "potential".

The spoon "tuned" version does 15.5 on the 1/4... the stock is what? 16.isshh? I don't care how go kart like it feels... that is just reaaaaally slow.

Hybrid technology is supposed to be an advance! A step forward... not a stupid selling gimmick.

The 2nd gen Fit's (GE's) are out since 2008 (redesigned) but yes, the first gen Fit's made their debut somewhere near 2001.

What I think is weird is that Honda is/was supposed to release an hybrid version of the GE Fit/Jazz that would make the Fit/Jazz the cheapest hybrid on the market. But now that the CRZ is out, I dont really know if Honda still has plans for an Hybrid Fit/Jazz.

Can we have 1 discussion without having all the Genesis enthusiasts comparing their car to the world ?

Yes its a cool car its RWD, it hazz turbozz, its the creme of awesome. Can we move on now?

Can we have a discussion without somebody taking shots at Hyundai?

No, so we don't move on.

Well, it's funny, and it's an apple to apple comparaison with the Veloster which, with the announced specs, will absolutely annihilate this car from Honda.

What's not to like? I could care less about Honda Civic owners trying to take shots at Genesis owners, it's like Genesis owners trying to compare themselves to muscle cars, both funny.

This post leads to believe you were comparing it to the genesis. Even thought this wasn't a comparison thread...

So the veloster platform was based on the same front wheel drive ones in Hyundai Accent and Hyundai Elantra, interesting.

The original CRX never had a big engine to start ;1.6L making a whooping 108hp, but the car was fun has hell, practical and great on gas. Honda made a bold move, sure they could have put a k series in it, but that's too easy, anyone can put an over-sized motor into a tiny car..

What is really awesome, is that Honda is the first to try and push a hybrid sports car, and the fact that all these big name companies taking so much interest for it is even better, i want to see a tuned electric motor in there.
