That's it, found the replacement for the Scion IQ.

Damn you Matthew McConaughey.

Didn't want prestige German brand, every secretary has one. I was so horribly disappointed with the quality of my Scion that it'll be a while before I consider another Japanese product. Also everyone and their mother has a VW now.

Conclusion:

2016 Lincoln MKC

what will happen to the parking situation? That was your main reason for getting the IQ even over a Yaris or another small subcompact.

The MKC's cool, the only thing that surprised me is that compared to the Escape, the trunk is much smaller.

There is no longer a parking situation!

Functionnal cars are for peasants. And since he now has a SUV, he will be able to park on sidewalks.

The grill is excellent for filtering krill. Congrats, I really like the recent Lincolns.

When did the love affair with the IQ end? I only remember you having positive things to say about it.

To me, saying "I was so horribly disappointed with the quality of my Scion that it'll be a while before I consider another Japanese product." is kind of like saying "My Smart car was such a piece of crap, I won't consider any German cars for a while".

I loved everything about the IQ up until about a year ago.

What turned me off is just how quickly the car has deteriorated with time. Its just 3 years old/30000km on the clock. I take meticulous care of my cars, but he paint is shot to shit. The sheet metal dents when it rains. Pretty much all the bushings are shot to shit. Everything has started to rattle inside. It seriously feels like a 15 year old car and it just ticked 30k.

And its not a one off micro car like the smart. Its basically a shortened Yaris, most of the parts are the same.

My friend has a 2013 Yaris and it's in even worse condition than my IQ.

Yes I'm generalizing and it's irrational but I'm just not ready to get another Japanese car yet.

Actually, from the picture you posted, you prefer to park it in the living room. So, problem solved I guess.

We have beaten yarises at work and they are still tight. Paint is cheap yes. To me, they are clearly better built than the IQ, although they share a lot.

They're yellow.

The OEM paint jobs on these cars are embarrassing...

More talking about the shot bushings and rattles. I guess the Yaris paint is in the econobox average, which means poor quality. They don't rust all that much though.

You really are insanely annoying.

- you're not the one who maintains them nor has access to the vehicles service history to judge what goes into keeping those cars "tight"
- you're not the one making the payments on them

I'm absolutely insulted that Toyota sells a product that looks the way my Scion does after 3 years. Another example, a buddy of mine has a black Scion TC 2011 with 40000km, he just resprayed the bumper/hood. The front bumper had more stone chips and white spots than black paint. Its starting to rust near the tailgate as well. The rest of the car has marks and scratches all over the place. If you sneeze close to a Toyota product you'll scratch the paint. Full srs..

Never again...

Its too bad, if it still looked/drove like new I may have kept it, but right now my 08 Jetta is the logical car to keep. It has 130000km and looks like it rolled off the showroom floor...

We seemingly don't live on the same planet, because the Yaris is literally the most reliable car in Occident.
