Again it depends on what sorta trip you want. I have no interest in hostels even with private room or dealing with airbnb nightly. I have a good British Isles listing service for cottages we have used. We will do Ireland next spring and will prob go cottage route as thats the trip we want. Sadly our money is worthless and you can do all the planning/ trying save but you get tired of M&S meal deals pretty quickly. Dublin will be expensive and Belfast is 2 nights top. Its a very small city

Avoid Temple Bar and look for accommodation in Grand Canal Dock area

If you do UK save London or whatever for the end of the trip. Grab the car and do the driving portion first. This way you aren’t wasting time heading into the city then at the end of the trip you can drive in and dump bags hotel. If not try and get early check in, its a life safer! London stay in West London, Zone 2 preferably. Zone 3 like North Acton is about as fas as Id go. This way transit time to central doesn’t take ages and the airport is near. East London NO THANKS.

Credit card churning et tu devrais pouvoir payer la moitié de ton billet d'avion avec des points chaque année. J'ai booké Chicago avec Expedia TD et les points (accumulés en 3-4 mois) on payé le billet à 500$ et 300$ d'hôtel environ, rince and repeat avec une autre offre de bienvenue.

They are clamping down on sadly. Like only one bonus per branded card type deal now. Especially with Aeroplan cards. You can’t double dip anymore

I used 215k Aeroplan points for YUL-LHR-YYZ-YUL in business for 2 and 35k pts for 2 to Orlando last feb. Still sitting on about 187k AP pts and can transfer from Amex 1:1.

Usually after 18 months or so you can reapply, so 6 months Scotia, 6 months CIBC, 6 months TD. For some reason I can't apply online for Scotia cards though, and they are not super helpful. Banque Laurentienne also has solid cashback offers from time to time too.

Yeah....seriously opening 3 -4 credit cards just for a trip....not for me! plus wtv I put on my credit card gets me good points to spend on the trip but it's not really a savings for me cause I could use it for something else....

Deux applications par année de 20 minutes ça peut te donner 1000$, c'est pas pour tout le monde mais c'est pas ben dur a gérer non plus. Je préfère 5-8% de rendement annuel vs 1,5-2.

Je trouve pas que je suis frugal, plutôt dans le milieu en terme de budget. Je ne couche plus en dortoir d'hostel miteux ni fait du pouce pour me rendre à destination..

Dernier voyage en europe, 10 jours Malte-Sicile
Billet d'avion 800
Bus quebec-mtl 200
vol malta-catane allez-retour 200
9 nuits airbnb @ 150/2 (occupation double) = 675
Etna tour 200
Transport en commun 200
Bouffe/divers.. 800 et je pèse fort la dessus, en réalité ca me reviens beaucoup moins. En plus on mange TOUJOURS au resto
Ca fait 3100$. Je ne trouve pas que je suis frugal.. a part que je n'ai pas loué de voiture

Sinon l'an passé Madeira/Porto/Lisbon, budget similaire je te dirais, le portugal ce n'est pas trop trop dispendieux.

Pour les vols j'adore google flights. Rentre tes paramètres et laisse-lui te montrer les prix sur la map.

Is this based on yourself or couple? Im basing my pricing on with my wife. Still 3100$ cdn seems a bit on the low end. I don’t know you or how you travel but still seem on the low end. Its all subjective with travel.

Not for aeroplan they clamped down hard a week ago.

You simply cannot have two cards of the same tier.

Une AP, une Avion, une Rewards, pas 2-3 AP en même temps. Je parle de deux cartes par an, pas 4 à la fois.

They have been clamping down recently. Lets say you have Amex AP reserve. You can’t get the bonus on the Privilege Visa. Its being called a “lifetime” Bonus. One bonus in your name one one card.

Thanks influencer points people

Churning has become too annoying. Better off getting pts bonus on spend or when there are pts sales. My advice is spend the pts quickly
 
For points better cobalt Amex

It sucks the clamp for loyal people like me that have the card for like 15+ years (CIBC days)..
