Trip to Germany...what to do?

So I'm being sent to Germany in September on business. I need to go to hamburg, Berlin and Hanover. I'll be there for a week with some spare time in between meetings and factory tours.

I've never been to Germany let alone overseas. I know America like the back of my hand and have driven all of north America. Well most. Haven't been to Alaska or the territories.

What's there to do and see in those cities ?

I wanted to go to the ring but it's too far out of the way.

Was thinking of renting a bike and doing the autobahn and checking the cities ?

Any input would e greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys !

Dubguyvr6, I know you've been. Help me out

damnnnn piqui. I remember that old screen name of yours!!!!

so in berlin..first thing: buy a subway/bus pass for the week.if you are into history, take some walking tours...i think theyre called Berlin walking tours.they usually go on for like 2-3 hours and you travel by S or U bahn. I probably went to 4-5 , it was amazing. ghost station, checkpoint charlie (then you venture solo in the small streets, bring your own guts). I also suggest you bite the bullet and hop on a train to Munchen, around 5-6 hours one way. You MUST go to the oktoberfest, it's september!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It will be the best 1000kms roundtrip detour EVER.

enjoy and be safe!

If you can catch a cheap flight or don't mind the drive. Vienna is absolutely worth it in my opinion. Beautiful city with so much to do and see.
Munich for Oktoberfest is going to be a bloody fucking mess, a great time though.

Hanover is like an hour from Wolfsburgh (KC's from there). There's a Museum in Wolfsburgh that you HAVE to go to. Besides that, Die Glaserne Manufaktur in Dresden is the tits (where they make the Bentley Continental Flying Spur and Phaeton back in the day). I think Ingolstadt is a must (Audi HQ) all the coupe Quattros you can eat and RS4's are like civics there.

God damn I wanna go back.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I don't know exactly how much free time I'll have so we'll see what I am get done. Planning will be key although I hate planning ahead.

The ring is unfortunate too far so I won't be able to stop there.

I won't e renting a Benz as one will be supplied :) most likely a e or s diesel.

I'll post some pics of whatever is happening and interesting from there.

If you ever change your mind, I was thinking of doing business with them next summer ( if the 'ring is still around... )

Visit Kunsthaus Tacheles in Berlin. During the day time this old building is occupied by punky/hipsterish/homeless artists who put up some pretty awesome galleries in there. At night, the ground floor of the building turns into an awesome club. Actually there is like 3-4 clubs and you can just walk from one to another through the backyard, really awesome party place.

German Historical Museum in Berlin is really worth a visit if you care about education yourself ;)

The Berlin Wall East Side Gallery is a 1.3km-long section of the wall near the center of Berlin. Over 100 paintings by artists from all over the world cover this memorial for freedom and make it the largest open air gallery in the world, really nice as well!

awesome. thanks a lot guys

I'll see if I can stay there later.

Im for sure checking out the berlin museums and maybe a walk tour to see the underground.
i'll be going to oktoberfest and checking out the night scene also.

lots of help, seems it'll be a great trip!
