PMG for drifting, forget it, they want like 5000$ a day for that place. If your car leaks oil your not even allowed on the test grounds.

I wont say where, first its not for sure at 100% and second, theres some guys that i know they would take the place and the idea from us! cause they have the $$$$$

I've organized events at the Blainville facility after management was transferresd to PMG. Cost for renting the asphalt area is $5000 per day (cones and everything are extra!). Water truck is around $800 per day. Also, you'll need $5 million for event insurance. BTW, the also strictly enforce a very low speed limit (85-90 kph, IIRC).

It's too bad. Back when that place was run by the government, we used to rent it for under $1000 everything included!

i knew it was expensive, but damn that sucks about the speed too!

theres also a new track in Ontario, i forget what its called, but its near Ottawa from what i remember, havent seen it yet though.

Wanna hear something REALLY funny? They have a speed limit on the 2-mile-long, banked oval! It's something like 120kph. They say that the limit is "strictly enforced" with a laser gun. Anyone going over 120kph gets kicked out. WTF is the point of a 2-mile, high-speed oval if you can go faster on the 40w?

That's Calabogie. It's still under construction and probably won't be open until spring 2006. Same designer as the guy who did Tremblant. Should be a nice track.

The BMW Club has a few dates booked, but it's all very tenantive since paving hasn't begun yet. I'll let you guys know if our Calabogie event gets off the ground.

I understand what you mean but like I said, not many kids with rusted 240's are going to be able to pay 150$ per day. Personnaly, if I'd have to drive like 2hours to get there and pay 200$ for 1 day and drive 2 hours back I'd rather keep doing what I've been doing for the last 3 years. Might be more risky and all but I'd rather put that money into my car :) I sure would support such an event though ! :D

do you race, or are you involved with the FAQ? because i attent most of their events at tremblant during the summer, and i remember ONCE they said there was an evo there, during the rain.

Just too bad for you're mom or you're girlfriend or you're brother if they die in an accident because of one of those 16y/o in a rusted 240 that can't 200$ a day for a course but would of paid like 50$ and learned enough not to loose it...

Anyways, very drastic example but you get the point !

Depends. They have three areas that they rent separately:

1) asphalt triangle = $5000 per day
2) genite brake test area = $2500 per day
3) high-speed oval = $2500 (IIRC...maybe it was $5000)

Renting the whole facility for the day will cost well over 10g. But most people rent specific areas for specific events.

I don't race per se. I am a performance driving instructor with several chapters of the BMW CCA, the BMW Club of Canada, the Porsche Club of America, and the SAAB Owner's Club. Also, I'm the Vice President of the BMW Club of Quebec and have been organizing or co-organizing just about every driver's school we've run in the last 3 years or so.

However, I AM really interested in the BMW CCA Club Race series as well as vintage racing. I'm planning on building a BMW 2002ti as a club racer. I don't have time to build up a car or to enter many events this season (I'm too busy as a physician and PhD student!)...so the project is on hold until the 2006 season.

LanEvo has it right...5k for the rent ...but 5k deposit also which is returned to you if you don't destroy their tarmac.

they ask you for insurance but they want money up front so that they don't have to wait for your claim to go through.

In the past, dealing with Gordon was a pleasure and affordable......... :bigup:
