That engine is a work of art.
Its beautifull.
But its all good on the dyno, but in the car....I mean...the car won't have any traction....tires can do so much you know.
Its like putting a F1 engine in a Go-Kart....sure its cool, but it won't go anywere.
To use that much power on the street....you need a freaking clean and fricking long stretch!

Bin oui bravo y'ont pas SOUDER 2 moteur ensemble.
Pour moi 1 V16 avec les meme specs que 2 V8 pi le meme son c'est la meme criss d'affaire que 2 V8 ploté ensemble. Meme si y sont pas SOUDER ensemble.

En autant que la transmission est capable de prendre 1500hp le reste va se perdre en wheel-spin. Comme Nik disait plus haut, jamais tu va pouvoir mettre 5000hp a terre dans un char.

Maybe so, but it is still pretty much two LSs fitted together. They certainly did not start from scratch, otherwise they would require a swift kick in the bum for not using hemispheric heads or OHCs...

C'est un bloc billet sur mesure, "inspiré" par la série LS de GM... donc techniquement une "copie" de LS 16 cylindres faites sur mesure.
Steve Morris a fait un méchant bon coup avec ce moteur. Il a fait payer la R&D aux gars de Devel et il va continuer à en produire pour des bateaux de courses. Un énorme moteur de 4000+ hp ca a pas trop de potentiel dans le monde de l'automobile mais dans le offshore racing oui.

Steve Morris Engines has 1 1/2 years into the prototype which Morris says is not exactly based on an LS or big-block Chevy, but is heavily “influenced,” by both. “I approached this thinking, 'Ok, you want a 5,000hp V16. I don’t know Formula One engines or Lambo/Ferrari/Volkswagen engines, but I do know a lot about American race engine stuff, so it is influenced by what I know.” The end result is a unique engine design, not an extended Ferrari V12 or two V8s welded together.
