The car has an electric unit that generates 115 horsepower and 199 lb-ft for torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.4 seconds, while its top speed is 140 km/h. Range is about 190 km. A full charge using a 220V outlet should run about four hours.

This is the first all-electric vehicle that VW will offer in North America.


This is impressive. If they can do this for ~ 30K they will have a winner.

Leaf est sensiblement pareille et elle coute 35 000$. Donc, une VW sera sensiblement plus chère.
 
i wonder how many kilowatt hour the battery is? and the leaf starts at 33 683$ minus 8000$ of government subsidy so it actually around 25k +tx
 
inb4 hydro quebec triples kilowatt rates in upcoming years and people start saying - we need an alternative source of energy for our cars
