News: VW Golf 7 Estate revealed

They would sell it the price of an A4 almost, but it would be cool indeed. What I like about golf wagon and jetta is the huge trunk, they are the only ones that can match similarly priced SUVs.

Also, I've seen on vw canada webstite that there's now a hybrid version of the jetta matched with the 1.4tsi engine, wtf is this shit?

the hybrid jetta is getting pretty good reviews

a wagon A4 starts at what, about 45K? (it started given it's not sold anymore) Why would a 2.0T Comfortline 4motion start at 45 if a GTI starts at 29?

tell me more about how you came up with 45k

Ma Volvo t5 awd coutait ça et plus, donc je serais pas surpris qu'un tel modèle coûte la même chose. C'est déjà moins cher qu'un a4 2.0t quattro...

You can have get 2.0T 4Motion Tiguan for 31,000$. So I'd say they have to put the Golf in this price range and yes, I'd be willing to pay 31,000 for an awd turbo Golf wagon.

You know full well they would only make it available as a top of the line model so HIDs, GPS, panoramic roof, power lift gate, leather, auto climate control, 18" mags, fender sound, parking sensors, etc so 31k.....never. Maybe not 45, but 40 for sure

I saw alot of mk7 in Europe this week and it is an AMAZING car. Perfectly designed. I fell bad for the competition. A GTI out there costs 51,000euro and they sell alot of them. It's crazy what their market can bear. Not to mention they also have a SEAT and Skoda version of every car for less money.

Then it will be their lost.

Why can a manufacturer put out an AWD SUV with all commodities for around 30k but cant make an AWD wagon in the same price range??? IF they really wanted us to buy wagons, they'd make them more affordable like their SUV's counterpart. And that is why I think manufacturers dont give a sh*t about selling their wagons in NA.

There will be a "base" AWD wagon, I can almost guarantee it. VW isn't stupid, they're aiming very high for the next 5 years, they'll make it happen.

Will they even bring it over here? Is there even a market for wagons? One thing I know for sure is that I have not seen many golf/jetta sportwagons around.

^That's because they don't have very appealing options. You can either get a 2.5, which is meh, or a TDI which many people still don't like because they're either unfamiliar with it, think it's too noisy or don't know where to find a gas station.

The 2013 TDI wagon fully loaded ( minus xenons, not available ) with DSG and FWD runs for 32k before taxes.
A Golf R runs for 39k, which is bloated with features, DSG, 4Motion, recaro leather and all the jazz you can ever think of in a golf, AND is a limited edition...

With their new platform, VW is aiming at lower prices. I'd say that 34-37k CAN for a loaded DSG 4 Motion TDI wagon is the ballpark that they're aiming. Plus, they might make it cost cheaper than the previous gen, since they're not overlooking having all the production moved to brasil and mexico for NA ( and contemplating a Canadian manufacturing plant... )
