Hey MR, I need you help.

This weekend, I need to get rid of an old office desk I have lying around in my apartment.

Where can I dump this? Is there a junk-yard or a recycling plant where I can dump it?

It looks almost like this:

I don't want to pay to take it away (because I have a pick-up), but at the same time, I don't expect money in return.

It's made out of wood and metal and weights about 130 lbs.

All I need to know is there a place on the weekends where I can dump this off?

Thank you.

you are very lucky

every first thursday of the month (or first garbage collection day) you can put whatever crap where the city picks the garbage and they'll take it

so for example if they take your garbage on thursday usually, the first thursday of the month is in two days and if you put a desk, tv, couch or whatever with the garbage someone from the city will take free of charge/gas/effort...just bring it downstairs :)

This thing requires 4 guys to lift. It was not easy bringing it in to my place. My friends and I can get it to the curb, but I doubt 2 garbage men will be able to lift this on their own. For that reason, I have a feeling it will sit on the side of the street for weeks, which might upset my landlord & neighbors.

I have spoken to the city and they suggested Salvation Army. I called them yesterday and they said to bring it by. So I'll give that a shot on Saturday.
