Windshield repair? Lebeau?

Hi,
I have a little crack on my winshield a little smaller than a dime, where should I get it repaired? I called Lebeau and the guy on the phone quoted me 120$+tx and was telling me that their job quality is superior to the competition because they restore the winshield's resistance, should I trust them or do you guys know another place where I could get better service?

Had my little star from a rock fixed by them 3 years ago and it hasn't cracked further, but it didn't hide it or make it disappear like the ads could have you believe, it actually made it look even worse...

It was actually 10$ cheaper if I paid than if the insurance did, but he told me the insurance companies actually prefer you getting it fixed and don't mind paying because it's still cheaper than replacing the whole thing further down the road when it completely cracks because of the little star, so your insurance shouldn't go up for this.

be careful using your insurance for minor repairs because it still count as a claim, my boss was surprised when he learned it from his insurance company after a chip repair.

I've used the repair kit for chips at work, pretty decent if you follow the instructions, but can still tell where it was repaired. I'll try the buffing with a Dremel next time, might get it more clear, invisible than buffing the spot by hand.

Sorry OP for semi hi-jacking your thread.

What if you're insured "bris de vitre", la prime augmentera-t-elle quand meme?

A claim is a claim so I don't know what difference it makes if you have that. Ask your insurance company, they might have different rules depending on your coverage.

with some insurance campanies, it's borderline false advertisement as it counts as 1 claim and they DO wait for you whatever happens next... with some others you can have 2-3 windshield repairs and it won't affect your premiums or count on your claims total.

My best suggestion would be for you to call them and be very very specific about what you're asking, ask again and re-ask to make sure before you commit to anything.

Lebeau are very professionnal, they can even come to your home or workplace and their reparations hold (even when it's bad) in my experience. They repair up to the size of a looney IIRC but some companies specialize in even bigger repair and can do a pretty decent job too, but the price goes with it.

GL with that.
