So, I don't know if it has been discussed before or not but I was reading the SAAQ pamphlet http://www.saaq.gouv.qc.ca/publications/dossiers_speciaux/modifying_driving.pdf and under "Headlights, Lights and Reflectors" it says:

PROHIBITED

• Installing an HID headlight kit
- if the original sealed-beam headlight was not designed for that type of bulb

So if your car was not designed to have oem HIDs then you can't install a kit anymore!

I'm so happy civics and golfs no more HIDs hurting my eyes at night with huge glare, THANK GOD I've been asking for this in my prayers for 10 years.
Higher end car made with "projector type" headlights are still allowed to use HIDs no change here, so only the ti-counes are affected.

Also a side note, I know there's some threads about this but it clearly says coilovers lowered cars are allowed... You guys who got tickets cause of your drop should check this out...

ALLOWED

- Installing a coilover kit

About fucking time. Those blue/purple or impossibly white HIDs on pickup trucks and Mazda 3s are more danger than anything else. They're also almost always aligned by FIFA referees.

YES !!!! I was getting tired of that shit

not anymore ... didn't you notice the shitload of new Corolla with those... they got what 12000k .... ?

Well as long as they have projectors headlights I don't care if they have 20,000k, if it's a beam light it's fine with me.

The other day I was driving and this civic was behind me with HUGE glare HID, my whole dash was light up by the car BEHIND me wtf... I seriously had trouble driving the car with this douchebag, even with the rear-view mirror turned off. And this happens kinda often.. so pissed lol I hope they give tickets to all of them.

On verra bien si je me fais coller.

Great news, but then again, is it really?

Sure, it probably will be in most cases with Civics blasting 55W D2S bulbs in their halogen reflector housings, but I'm sure some people with legit projector retrofits will get hassled just because, like for anything else.

Another thing in there that is not permitted:
Replacing incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs
– where the lenses were not designed to be used with LED bulbs

Incoming tickets for license plate LEDs that nobody sees etc.

Also, what about the new Corollas with their OEM super blue LED headlamps and the glare they produce? Anyone else notice how annoying those are?

Edit: Just saw that Mickrob had posted about the f'n Corollas too, guess I'm not the only one!
