ive heard people say that oversized rims are bad for drag.(ie 17s 18s). why is this, and what size would be considerd good??

its bad because wheels weight a lot, also a car with higher sidewall will have better traction on a straight line, plus most slicks require a big sidewall.......all this combined makes it better to have smaller mags, size depends on the car.....for my car I have 17" with 315 wide rear tires on BFG Drag radials......this thing is gonna grip like crazy.........yet I couldve put awsome 19inchers if I wouldve wanted.....

-tires cost more if the rim is bigger
-rim will weight more, so the car puts more torque on the wheel and less on the ground
-the number of engine rotation you'll need to make lets say 10 meters will decrease, the car will accelerate slower but will have better top speed ( you dont want that since dragracing is an acceleration races)

sick....so the sidewall is like the profile of the tire right?? like the middle # on the tire size??
