O2 sensor $40?

Salut jai une madame a ma job quia acheter une ACCENT 2002 GL chez H gregoire....
la son check engine yallume a cause dun O2 sensor defectueux

jai checker les prix pour des sensors chez des autoparts pis ils mont font a peu pres pour 130-160$ chak

la elle appelle chez Greg le crosseur, ils lui disent qui peuvent avoir des O2 sensor pour 40 piasse

la jme dis : soit c pas du neuf, ou bin c le pire jobber quia pas

jai jamais vu un sensor des années 96 + en bas de 60-70 piasse.....
(jai payer le mien sur mon escort 75$ et cest un 96) alors je vois pas pkoi eux yarriverait avec 40 balles quand tous les autoparts me disent que le ptit crisse sensor de hyunday y vaux cher.....
entk qu'en pensez vous?
 
actually they could be giving you used ones. In that case dont take them, once a O2 sensor is contaminated its useless. Or they could be selling them to you at their price. Garage price is around 40-60% less.

My price for o2 sensors is around 40$ each. O2 sensors are a common problem on hyundais it seems.
 
Are you sure it's because of a sensor problem.
There might actually be a problem with the engine.

If the cel came on for O2 then chances are the O2 sensors are out of range in the +/- reading.

First step would be to check them using a multimeter, then to replace them. If the problem comes back then I would look elsewhere.
 
Premierement elle a acheté une accent et deuxiemement elle l'a achté chez Grégoére

elle voulait etre vraiment certaine de se faire fourrer quoi ? :p :p
 
I've heard alot of bad stories about them. Makes me laugh everytime I hear their advertisement on the radio.
 
peut-etre qu'il te charge ce prix la pour éviter des procédures judiciaire ou avoir de la mauvaise publicité...

If its someone you dont know, its a scam. Just ask around on MR lots of people have good hook ups with that kind of stuff. Seems like 50% of the people here can get good prices for car related items...

en effet, ils peuvent faire ça mais c'est facile de détecter, tu mets la clé à ON puis la lumiére de check engine devrait allumé sinon ils ont enlevé la lumiére en arriére du cluster :laugh:

ils peuvent aussi juste nettoyer le vieux o2 pi le remettre à sa place :dunno:

The only possibility I would buy from H Gregoire, and a sales rep once told me they were ok with that, is to drive the car over to an independent mechanic of my choice, for a bumper to bumper inspection.

I came close to doing that once for a BMW 2000 540i they were seliing for about $30,000. They were also offering $18,000 for my 1999 BMW 328i with 95,000 Kms on it at the time (last year).

I decided to back off once I saw the state of the 540i ( filthy inside, filthy engine bay, paint chipping all over front of the hood), even though the 10 minutes test drive felt OK.
 
Certain que le sensor va te couter seulement 40$, ils vont le prendre d'une autre accent, et vendre l'autre accent à un autre poisson, and so on...
