That's full of craap! The only 3L 325's that exist are the new E90 2006 325i's as well as the new 2006 525i's, they're 215hp, essentially detuned versions of the new 3L engines of the new 2006 330I's. The 325 convertible is just that a 2.5L engine with 184hp.

From bmw.ca website, about the 325Ci Convertible :
"Moteur 6 cylindres en ligne, 24 soupapes, 2,5 L, 184 ch"

There never was a 3.0L in a 325.

For the E46 chassis,
- the 323 has a 2.5L
- the 325 has a different 2.5L
- the 328 has a 2.8L
- the 330 has a 3.0L

Nope. The E90 325 has a 3.0l. It has the same engine as a 330, exept it is detuned.
I was at the 'E90 test drive' of BMW Canada, and that's what they told us.

Powertrain
Choice of two in-line six-cylinder engines
2.5-liter, 215 horsepower
3.0-liter, 255 horsepower

**EDIT : The car and driver was wrong. The bmw.ca website mentions that it is a 3L in the 325i and it produces 215HP. E90fanatics.com forums are talking about a "detuned" version of the 3L.

But for e46 I guess a 325i is really a 2.5L

Probably true when both are parked ...

Actually the difference must not be enormous with the cabrio, I know the our 325ix isn't faster than the 320 had before. In fact I liked the 320 much better.... So if the awd system slows an 325 that much I'm guessing the extra weight of the cabrio must not help neither, and since the ti is the lightest of the e36 it might be possible.

C est totalement faux croit moi...

Une 325 Cab a un 2.5l et non un 3.0l *fag*

C est de la bull shit...

Pis désolé je t ai pas repondu y a pas de Cabriolet en inventaire used..

:(

Y a une belle M3 E46 par exemple!!! :D

But the 325 cabrio and awd have a 3.46 differential even with the standard tranny, compared to the 325 sedan and coupe which have a 3.15 diff. So with the standard tranny they are all very close in terms of 0-100 km/h. But if you take the cabrio or awd with the auto tranny, which also have the 3.46 then it's slower than a 325 sedan or coupe with the same tranny.

Yeah I know about the diff difference, but on the highway or exiting from a turn our standard 325xi with executive package and all ( a lot of weight) doesn't feel much faster or any faster than the 320i. The difference in acceleration isn't big enough to notice. Take a 325i with standard tranny thought and you can feel the difference.
