ok heres the deal. if i buy a phone from the states (no its not an iphone) and its actually an open box...if he marks it as a gift...will i still get assraped with taxes?? what if he marks, return or defective....shipped with USPS...

i need to know cuz this is going to determine wether the phone is worth purchasing or not

thanks in advance

with usps and value indicated at less then 80$ there is a good chance you will pay nothing.
USPS is the only way to do it.

depends if he sending the phone via a other box or brown paper wrap and even if it is written gift u can still pay duties. USps shouldnt charge you tho unless u go with usp which is gettho

Defective return will 100% not get u duties tho

UPS and USPS have nothing to do with paying duties, they just ship the package. However, UPS will charge an insane amount for brokering your package. BUT if you call before and tell them you would like to clear the package yourself, you will save money.

You wont aklways get charged if you ship USPS, depends on the amounts.
If it UPS, its inevitable for sure
