Legal 3' exhaust!!! was told by Laval police it's 100% legal!!!

hey for you guys with turbo cars that daily drive them and dont want to get hasseled by police i was told today by trafik police where i live in Laval that this muffler is 100% street legal.

Magnaflow 3' XL turbo muffler...is has all the caracteristics of a stock muffler that is not ''free flow'' and offers almost the same performance with very minimal noise except a sporty girgle not louder them stock STI's *tu*

i will be selling these this summer and i will offer them with some JDM cars that i will sell for those that live in ''hot'' areas or just don't want the hassle *tu*
 
so if i have this straight it would be legal on an STI due to the fact that its turbo'ed stock but not on my car cause my cars not turbo'ed stock?

il y a aussi le Dynomax super tubo...

silencieux à cloisons internes... de même caractéristique
que celui d'origine mais qui à les qualités d'un free flow
pour favoriser la libre circulation des gaz sans trop de restriction;

en conduite normal... il est aussi silenceiux que celui d'origine
en terme de DB mais avec une sonorité plus "ronde" de pus basse fréquence..

très bon compromis pour la plupart des voitures de rue
avec une motorisation stock ou modifié qui demandent
une plus grandre circulation des gazs offerts par le silencieux d'origine
à barrieres internes;

so you guys are telling me that if i put one of these on my car my exhaust will be legal?....I have a 96 civic with:
-gt2868rs turbo
-3inch downpipe and exhaust
-18inch resonator
-for the moment I have a free flow magnaflow muffler

so if I cut off my magnaflow and put on anyone of the two exhausts above my exhaust will be legal?
 
J'ai vu un ti-coune passer avec un truc du genre et c'etais plus bruillant que mon free-flow.
Ceux mentionné ici sont vraiment aussi silencieux que OEM?
Je veut juste 2"1/2. Mais aussi silencieux que OEM.

Unless you have a catalytic converter, no.
 
Reliser la loi. CARACTERISTIQUES d'origine. Il n'y a pas un CIVIC qui vien avec un 3" OEM
Un CIVIC ca vien avec une paille.
Le policier peu donner un ticket meme si il est dans l'erreur c'est pas le policier qui a décidé que fallait que ca sois caracteristique d'orignes mais le juge suite a la preuve de la poursuite.

Probably I know better than most cops on mufflers and exhaust system modifications. I wont just give you an answer just based on a picture of a muffler and not knowing how the rest of the exhaust system is made under the car.

As I already said, it's not because you cant see though a muffler that it isin't a free flow. Take the Dynomax muffler, it's a free flow, all it has more to it is a few bends. A regular muffler has different and seperate chambers. Plus you must take into consideration of any add ons or any parts removed of the original system... cats, resonnators, or any other modification done to it, like plus sizing.

A simple YES in this case would be impossible for me to give. So my final answer, is I dont guarantee that those mufflers are legal.

excuse my language but this is ****ing bullshit.

we're allowed to modify our cars, but you tell us straight through is illegal, we can swap the motor in the car but if we do not change the exhaust the swapped motor will not run properly. so we try to find alternatives to accommodate the law that it has to be quiet, and when we do, you still tell us it might not be legal.


take my case, i have an illegal muffler right now, i have a JDM swapped motor and the original exhaust will not work on my car. i want to change my muffler for something quiet and that is not straight through, the magnaflow XL and the Dynomax superturbo are the only two. the dynomax from what ive been told is quieter than the magnaflow, however the dynomax isnt a true chambered design, yet it reduces sound more since it uses better technology than chambering. what am i supposed to do? move? leave quebec? sell my car and walk?

its like you guys are telling us its ok to use drugs but we'll arrest you if we see you doing it.

i'd like an honest answer from FFRacer on what someone in my position should do!
 
le Dynomax super tubo se fait à partir de 1 3/4
comme celui d'origine pour aller sur les petit 4 cyl et ça va jusqu'à 3 pouces..

allez voir le "catalogue en haut" dans les choix en haut
sur leur site .. pour voir toutes les grandeurs ..

allez voir aussi sur l'onglet " sound of Dynomax"
où on peut entendre chaqu'un des silencieux et comparer ça
à un silencieux "Walker" de type OEM"

biens sûr le test est fait avec un gros V8 de type "muscle car"..
et ça ne dit dit pas la sonorité que ça ferait sur un Civic d'origine

moi on me dit que sur un Civic stock si met un Dynomax super turbo..
la sonorité n'est pas plus forte que d'origine.. et c'est impossibe
qu'un policier puiise utiliser la sonorité comme motif d'interception;

Je ne sais pas pourquoi vous vous entêtez à contredire les policiers dans ces forums. À cause de jurisprudences, les "caractéristiques" sont devenues des spécifications(comme Prélude nous a si souvent expliqué). Cela veut dire que si tu mets un muffler de couleur NOIR sur une voiture qui a l'origine avait un muffler de couleur GRIS, en théorie, tu es passible d'une contravention pour l'article 258 parce que les caractéristiques(spécifications) d'origines. C'est aussi simple que ça. Plus vous allez insister, plus ils iront loin pour montrer que vos mufflers sont illégaux. La couleur, c'est pour bientôt c'est sûr... ET un jour ca sera aussi le nombre de barrières internes et leur forme.

C'est vraiment platte pour le tuning parce que beaucoup d'entre vous avez des moteurs bien modifiés qui requièrent des modifications des systèmes d'entrée/sortie...

un moment donné.. il y a une limite à ne pas franchir....
et les tribunaux seront là .. pour intervenir.. .

pour ce qui est du policier .... il peut s'il le désire émettre un
ticket pour le motif qu'il juge pertinent.. "selon son jugement"

mais le bras de la justice ne s'arrete pas là...

après ça.. il y a les tribunaux... et les juges ne sont pas des idiots..
en matière d'écahppement, les motifs d'interception non justifiés et
les preuves farfelus et montées en épingle par la poursuite
vont être rejetés..

Seul raison. Les politicien qui s'occupent de faire des projets de lois repondent a la demandent des la population général.
Ont s'entend tu que pour chaque tuner responssable qui comme moi fait attention dans son choix et respecte ses voisins et demandent une loi équitable, il y a 20 ti-cons avec des boite a beurre qui mennent plus de bruit qu'un avion et 30 citoyens pu capable d'endurer ses ti-cons qu'il ont comme voisin.
En plus les tuners sont ben fort pour chailer sur des forums mais je n'ai vu aucune action pro-active ou regroupement qui demandent des changements a la loi. Tout le monde chiale individuellement.
Pour le moment la loi actuel permet au policiers de sevir contre le bruit mais sans distinction entre ce qui est raisonnable ou pas. Les citoyens qui se plaignent du bruit sont donc servis et le politicien lui peu compter sur leurs votent au prochaine elections.
C'est ca la démocratie.
En Chine ca serait mon compliquer. Tu aurait droit a un char juste si t'es riches et membre du parti!
 
If a cop pulls me over i blast some tori amos and hit on him as if i were gay i usually dont get tickets because the cop doesnt want to be hit on so they leave me alone,
