I strip my car every summer since 2003... It sucks donkey balls; noisy, messy, ugly.. But yes it does accelerate slightly better.
The reason why i strip it, is not because i want to look cool and shit like that.; I always have somekind of work to do, wich ends up taking 10 times longer than predicted. Example; sonddeadning the cabin, passing extra wiring, being on the lookout for rust (very important on a honda hehehe) etc, etc etc..
Plus, everytime i put all my panels back on, its a whole new car each times.. Pretty economic way of "changing" eh?!
The thing i really dislike about driving my car stripped (only front seats and dash remaining) is that if i ever were to have an accident, it could get messy. See, a normal interior is usually filled with smooth edges and soft textures. On a stripped one, almost everything is hard and pointy, prone to hurt the shit out of you in a bad accident
