Shaking Steering Wheel While Braking at High Speeds

Lately, if I'm driving about 140km/h and I hit the brakes, my steering wheel shakes from left to right very vigorously. If I'm braking from about 100km/h, braking is perfectly smooth.

My rotors were replaced from warping about 20,000km ago. Could they have possibly warped again in such a short period of time? When I last replaced them, I felt a vibration in the pedal and the steering wheel every time I applied the brakes. Lately, I only feel the vibration in the steering wheel when braking at high speeds.

It might also be a good idea for me to mention that my tires are pretty worn. However, I doubt the tires are causing the problem because the problem only occurs under braking.

Any thoughts?
 
tu peux crochir des rotors brand new, si tu as une voiture pessante et un systeme de freinage ordinaire ( intrepid, comme dans ta signature) c'est sur que tu va crochir tes disque a tout les fois que tu va conduire de facons sportive
 
Je vote pour fermer le thread, rouler a 140km/h est illégal sur les routes québécoises. La vitesse tue.

I have disc brakes all around.

J'ai pensé à cela. J'espère que ce n'est pas le cas car je serais très déçu si c'est ma faute que les rotors ont crochi en 20 000km...

Je roulais à 140km/h sur une piste de course.

However, my steering wheel doesn't shake unless I'm braking from high speeds...

as-tu bien nettoyé le hub avec une brosse d'acier sur un "die grinder" avant d'installer tes nouveau discs ?
 
Aftermarket rims and you forgot a hubcentric ring?

Or just balljoint, or, tie rod end, or control arm bushing.

I just had the same problem.. I took the opportunity to replace the whole braking system.

20,000km on the rotor is possible if you are aggressive (track, high speed braking)
 
Still running with the winter air in the tires, summer air should fix it.

P.S. yes, rotors are most probably out of round.
