Welcome to the 2010-2011 Montreal Canadiens Thread. There were some interesting Canadiens and Canadiens-related signings today.

Plekanec signs for 6 years / $30 million and a no trade clause.

Darche resigned for one year.

Bergeron out for a while.

Nathan Horton was traded to the Bruins. Would have been nice to get him here.

You all know about Halak being traded to St-Louis for two prospects.
 
I'm still not sure how I feel about the Halak trade, and Plekanec's signature... We'll see how it all plays out.

But i think $5 million per year is too much for a guy who has a tendency to simply dissapear during the playoffs. With regards to Halak, I think we got a fair return for a guy who, at the end of the day, could possibly resign with the Habs.

And to whoever said they can sign Halak... well yeah, but he's restricted, so they'd have to give some draft picks back to St-Louis....

no problem with halak trade , but we pay to much for plek , at 5milion max 3 years
 
Are you guys seriously considering Halak coming back to Montreal? hahahahahahahahahhaha Great way to start this thread!
 
what you have to remember about pleks is he's a great two-way player, a little expensive but still legit. and he's AMAZING on the PK
