cracked catalytic converter

Anyone know if cracks on these can be welded?

I was told no but i dunno.

The crack i think is near flange

just replace it with a ebay test pipe. The cost to weld it back will cost you more than a test pipe trust me. If you weld a catalytic converter, it woulnt have the original suppressing and gaz filtering effect anyways ...

Depending on the crack size and type welding could complicate things.
The best is to buy an after market cat for a 200-300$.

However the anti pollution system has usually 10yrs warranty.
What brand and year is your car ?

For what vehicle ? some catalytics are incorporated in the exhaust manifold and usualy are very hard to fix, if you would like you can bring teh vehicle to our shop and I could take a look and give you some options.
