welding trannies is a no no... been there done that... it just comes back
 
i only really posted the jb weld as a joke..but it actually works...could be a temp fix until you figure out what you actually want to do fix/swap wtvr...
 
Temp fix was done but still leaking
The fix was done by removing tranny from car, welding crack but still leaks
 
My old mk4 gti vr6 had a crack in the tranny, previous owner had it welded....garbage! Leaked everywhere! My clutch/flywheel/pressure plate were drowned in tranny oil. My solution: bought a used tranny and sold the car.

I know how you feel and seeing you have a auto tranny sucks even more cause they are so hard to find. Good luck!
 
used EYP tranny (5-speed auto with tip $1000 + 4 hours labour)

VS

swap (arnd $2500)

i went with option 1.

its too hard to resell a swapped car... and next yr ill buy a new DD

ah ok your got a good price just to get the car backo n the road i hope it works out!
