Slipping Clutch? Having trouble putting the power down?
With short throws and that sporty clutch feel, driving a manual Honda is surprisingly fun. A big part of that satisfaction comes from having a well-adjusted and properly-functioning clutch. After all, it's the clutch that gets the engine power to your transmission smoothly. If your clutch is worn too severely, or contaminated with oil or fluids, you'll get clutch slippage or clutch shudder. In severe cases, a worn clutch can break other items further along in the drivetrain, or damage the flywheel if it breaks.
When it's time to replace your clutch, you have a couple of options. A stock replacement is a good choice if you use your car for daily driving and commuting. However, if you have modifications from even simple bolts ons or are harder on your car through "spirited" driving, an upgrade to a clutch with more clamping force is always a good option. If you have a power adder (like turbo or supercharger) on the car an upgraded clutch is essential.
What if you're unsure when your clutch was last changed or need replacing? Some possible symptoms of a worn clutch includes loss of power (feel), rattling noise, unable to select a gear, vehicle rpm increasing but not accelerating, very high pedal release point. Teknotik is offering a Clutch package - a new clutch disk, pressure plate, release bearing and pilot bearing (where applicable). Upgrade/Replacement to an aftermarket lightweight flywheel is also available.
