Wine Thread des Vins

Can anyone suggest an Amarone? I've had it once, and would like to get another bottle of it. I know they're pricier ($30+), but it's exactly the wine I've always wanted. Love dry wines, and the one I had was amazing, but just don't remember which one it was.

^^ 100% agree. We did a vertical of this wine, 1990, 1995, 1997 and 2005... It ages VERY well and is also good young. I personally do not like Italians very much, but I can tell this is a good one, even if it doesn't match my taste.

I'll have to agree as well. I have a bottle of 2006 waiting to be opened. Have you tried Sassicaia 07? I've been hearing mind blowing reviews of it, hopefully I can try it soon.

I have both 2007 and 2008 vintages. 07 was ranked 10 on the 100 best list from WS. Don't go crazy looking for 07s since I feel that the 08 is just as good. For 29$ it's absolutely fantastic.

Achète pas de Ménage à Trois... Il y a comme une mode en ce moment avec ce vin, tout le monde l'achète... Ils ont même augmenter le prix. C'est juste un vin cool en ce moment. Ce n'est pas un bon vin.

J'ai déjà bu le vin blanc Ménage à Trois et il est excellent. Même s'ils haussent le prix, il reste un de mes blanc favori, mise à par les Reisling!

Never tried it, but I will now for sure.

Nothing my wife and I enjoy more then a well prepared meal
she's the cook, I'm good at standing there, watching her, and assisting in getting pots out.

honestly, the higher priced wines 30+ has never did anything for me, except for some aged Mondavi, Clos du bois, Le Clos Jordanne.

Open a bottle of EXP Syrah or EXP Chardonnay (my favs)
Let them sit for 10 mins in decanter

bread to start with, some cheese (more for her then me - not liking cheese)
after about 5-10 minutes, steak grilled, with steamed veggies with some potatoes.

Nice night for me :)

working in the industry has given me knowledge that not all people get or ever know of ... they just know it's a bottle of wine and they like it

Yeah nothing like Red Wine with good pizza. Italian Wine with Italian style pizza = win

Try some Italian Wine with the Como maybe:bigup:

Chateau Soleil, dans les spécialité, Grands vins de bordeau +/- 38$ , vin préféré à ma femme & moi.



La SAQ tenait des Madiran Chateau Montus 1995 y'a pas si longtemps il n'en reste plus beaucoup je crois, ce vin la est en plein dans le bon moment de sa courbe de ''croissance'' j'ai adoré aussi.


Post Script ; J'ai acheté un Chateau Pétrus 2003 à mon père pour noêl (la folie...) Je vous en donne des nouvelles dès que l'on déguste sa !
 
Moi j'ai essayer un Chateau Musar cuvée 2003. Tres bon vin avec une touche boisée avec du corps et finesse. C'est un vin avec une charpente solide et bien equilibré!!!! Mais le probleme je crois pas que toute les SAQ le tienne et un pensez y bien, la bouteille coute 50$.....En passant il devient meilleur encore apres 15 ans

Really don't want to be an ass , but if you get a hold on a Sassicaia 2007 , you'd be wise to leave it in the cellar for at least 10 years... At that price , drinking it already is a waste...

If you want to try something nice , try : Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia in it's good years , it's Ornellaia's second wine , a real bang for the buck , considering the real thing is $160 and up (same price range as a Sassicaia)

If you need more , i'd go with italy's finest , Solaia.

i had a wine at Suite 701 which had a taste of coffee(african), I asked the waiter to find out that it is a private import. anyone know if there are similar wine to suggest available at SAQ?
