Rogers contract help, see inside

Hi,

Im upgrading to the new iPhone 4S from my 3GS , but i still have 1 year left in my contract so i got this email from Rogers about cost of upgrade:

$319.00 + $90.00 Early Upgrade Fee*
+ $35 Hardware Upgrade Administration Fee

For a 3 year contract....

Is there any way to get them to wave the Early upgrade and hardware upgrade fees?

Please let me know, Thanks....
 
There is always a way around it. Ask them to give you the cost to cancel, and then decide if it would be cheaper to change companies to get brand new customer price (159$). Plus incentives some companies give to new clients, plus the fact that you're already a customer for "X" many years, and that you could also sell your 3GS to absorb some of the cost of cancellation.

Makes sure you discuss all of this with the agent, it will show that you are capable of crunching numbers, and there aren't any huge concessions they are making to keep you one of their customers.
 
Often the early upgrade fee is fairly close to the cancellation fee (depending on when you renewed) This will be your best bargaining chip, use it wisely :p
