Every once in a while, a car comes along that seems to be perfect in every way: amazing looks, spectacular performance, and of course an awesome price. The Nissan GTR was that car, and continues to be that car. When the most recent R35 body style came out, I remember Nissan making claims that it was “untuneable”, even to the extent of cutting off aftermarket suppliers from making parts for the car until it was available worldwide. As we can all see now, it takes a lot more than that to stop the tuning world. In a few short years we’ve come to accept them yet again as amazing tuning platforms, capable of attacking road courses as well as the strip with spectacular results.

When 66MVP was handed the keys to this GTR, there was no way it could stay stock, especially with the mindset of people who work on cars all day long. When it comes to building cars, everyone wants to standout nowadays. And with the everyone vying for the attention of the world, that’s exactly what MVP went for with this car, making it into a neck-breaker for any show, meet, and event it goes to.

Out went the stock suspension in favor of KW coilovers, bringing this Godzilla intimately close to the ground. So close in fact, that they had to raise it up to its current height (go ahead, see if you can get your shoe under the front lip, I dare ya). A set of 20×9/20×10.5Advan RS-D’s were swapped on, and given a mix of flat and blood red powdercoat to give it some contrast to the body.

The super black paint the car had before was wrapped in matte black Wraptivo along with the carbon fiber wrap on the roof panel. It also features a Vorstiener Carbon lip and rear diffuser(although the front was not on at the time of the shoot).

Although the stock sound in GTR’s are far from bad, MVP decided to upgrade the sound a little bit by installing JBL components all around and 2 10” trunk mounted JBL subs enclosed in a custom fiberglass box.

Engine work is light, but not overlooked by any means. The exhaust is a full Greddy Catback, letting out that notorious snarl of the VQ, and its breathing is helped along by Greddy intercoolers, suction kit, intercooler piping, and bypass valves.

As an added bonus to this whole story, 66MVP is actually one of the few shops out there now backed by a Nissan dealer, Sansone Jr’s 66Automall. You buy the car, they install the parts, and you get to keep your warranty and peace of mind. In a time where the aftermarket community is finally starting to get recognition from the major automakers, it’s nice to see a shop and a dealership able to work hand in hand on projects like this, creating one of a kind cars that can still appeal to the masses. And for those with deep enough pockets and an interest in buying it, you can email jim@66mvp.com.
