I never owned a 350Z but I did own a G35 and was really disappointed. For starters, the engines are very fragile, especially piston rings. They drink a lot of oil and they are also known for being thirsty. I don't know how some of you guys found it was good on gas (driving 90kmh with the find pushing you) but I barely made 400 KMs on a tank of premium gas with my G35 half city half highway. My car had about 60,000 KMs and was never driven in winter (it was a 2005) but had oil consumption issues. After Infiniti were done with the "tests" they concluded that 900mL of oil every 1,000 Kms was "normal" and they never wanted to replace my engine. So with their calculations, if I didn't add any oil between oil changes, the car would run out of oil, and yet they found that "normal". I also never was impressed with performances. It never felt like it had 300 HP and the fact that GTIs and 328i could keep up with me didn't help reassuring me. My S4 and my 335 felt twice as power full. Again, if the engine had 200,000kms I could've understood but it barely made 60,000 KMs mark. In terms of body, I had a minor accident that left a scratch on my car. Two days later, rust started to appear and this was during summer. I've had scratches, metal deep on my Audis and none of them ever rusted.
Now let's get to interior quality; I've never seen something cheap like that, heck even older Toyotas and Hondas are better. I have sat in a 350Z and in a 370Z and I can tell they never really fixed the problem. There are still uncut pieces of plastic that can show where the "mold" was closed and separated during the building process. The hinges in the doors are dumb; they don't hold their position, like all the other cars. Every time you open the door, especially if your in a inclined street, they'll come back and bust your tibia. My gf had bruises on her legs because of this. I think that the interior was one of my biggest issues with the car, especially since you spend all your time in it. I do give it credit for the Bose sound system because it did sound amazing and the seats we're also very comfortable.
In the end, it's all in the details. I find they look good from far but far from good. I was very disappointed. To give you an idea, my current 335 is at 100,000KMs (bought the car at 50,000kms) and takes about 900mL of oil every 5,000 KMs. Heck, even my S4 V8, KNOWN for drinking a lot of oil because the block was made of aluminium, drank about 1 liter of oil every 3500 - 4000 kms...
I wouldn't say "DON'T BUY IT" but I will not purchase another Nissan/Infiniti for a while, not after my experience.
