Official ChAmpcar thread

i'm picking up the Fuel Regulator today... we should test this week-end.

Cross my finger... will be ready for the Glen!

Just realized that since i'll be missing the June Calabogie race (out of town for work), the next two races for me will be at the Glen and Laguna Seca. Living the dream, eh? lol :D

Its looks like once again the ASE round of Chump car is in peril.

Only 1 entry so far!!!!

So if you know that you are doing this event- you really need to sign up sooner than later!!

What are the prerequisites for a new driver.
The ChumpCar interested me for a long time and I would like to jump in and start in motor racing.
I think the Chumpcar is a great opportunity. Do you have any contact or links ?
Thank you

Check out the Chumpcar forums in Canada section for rentals. http://forum.chumpcar.com/index.php?/forum/60-canada-putting-people-together-the-connection/

The easy button would be to get in touch with Travis & Trevor from TWOth Motorsport at Calabogie. They usually run and rent out seats is several cars at Calabogie & Mosport races and probably ASE race. http://travishillracing.com/chumpcar/

Hi everyone!
This is a friendly reminder that the final, full payment is due for Calabogie "Loonie Laps at the Lake" in four short days!
Yup, September 14th is just 64 days away. If you would rather not pay the $200 late fee then please pay up now!

Bumping this... our two chumpcar projects stalled as literally all of us scattered all over the country and USA after graduation and couldn't hold onto our base cars (owner of the Sentra moved to Detroit and my Mk1 Rabbit needs a frame realignment... stiff suspension kills rusty chassis), but I didn't give up on the dream. I know it is the ideal donor for the Rabbit, but a mk4 Jetta 2.0 fell into my lap and will be used as my new base. You'll definitely see it lapping early next year (as long as I don't spend too much time travelling for work) and aiming for a Sept 2016 race date. And I've sourced a couple of replacement chumps.

First order of business is to lose some weight from the car... erm, I meant driver.

Sadly with this weekends ASE event cancelled- the next stop is Calabogie in September.
see y'all there.

44 teams entered for this weekends event at CMP.

Rain in the forecast, could get interesting, and yes, driving the PT Cruiser will be fun no doubt.

Well Mopar For Ever , with the PT Cruiser made racing history- being the first PT to make a podium finish and then taking the checkered on Sunday for the win.

That car was fun to drive and I am so lucky to be part of such a great team. Next race will be the Chumpionship at Mosport- the sat/sun before our lapping day.

Leaving Quebec city this morning, picking up a friend in St Hubert and on our way to Mosport for chump and lapping !
Gonna be a great weekend

What a race that was.... what weather, what action!

notes- Mopar 4 Life Neon was leading race by 4 laps when the ACT flywheel broke at hour 5. we were then out of the running but managed to replace the clutch unit in the evening and was back Sunday and scrapped our way back to 25ish spot.

The PT CRuiser became our "a" car and we stayed in 2nd place all the way to the end- who would have thought....

Thanks Steve and crew!

My build is commencing... scrapped the whole mk4 build (too heavy) and dropping the 2.0 AEG and 02J trans into an 84 GTI shell that I just picked up. The math is putting me slightly over the '$500' but it'll be worth it unless the right ABA/020 combo pops up. Hopefully it will be ready by early summer and get a few ASE LC sessions in.

That look like an awesome kind of event.
Saw a video of a weekend..and look like a blast.

ps.:
I doubt the 2016 Calabogie will be on sept 10-11.

I'll be there racing my vintage motorcycle with our assocation(VRRA) (officialized last week) :D

Thats why it says TBD- most of the CDN schedule is uncertain- as far as dates- but we will be at CMP twice I am pretty sure.
