Event Coverage: Dmcc rd1

Over the weekend it was RD1 of the 2012 DMCC Season. The event was held at the Autodrome Montmagny that is about 45 min away from Quebec City. The event is usually jam packed but sadly mother nature got the best of us this time as it poored rain pretty much the whole weekend. None the less the event was exciting!

Last years Rookie of the Year Jeff Laframme was set to be driving his new IS300 drift car but with some slight mechanical issues he rented back his old car for this competition.


Francis Tasse's 850 hp S14 was crazy but he ended up having a tad to much hp for the rain.


Marc Landreville was back with is trusty s14 rocking a new livery.


We did sorta get lucky, the morning practice session was dry ish..Here is Babu smoking some Hankooks.


But pretty much when the main action was set to start.. It started to rain hard.. Not fun shooting in poring rain.


Even in the rain the action was pretty good.. when it was all over it was Jeff Laflamme on the top spot of the podium followed by Claude Poirier in 2nd and Babu in 3rd.

i just dont miss an event last year but its cool to see that you improve your skill because you clearly have the cash and sponsor to go far

Dude honestly, I was there and Babu did a good job drifting in the rain, he had solid drifts through the night. Don't bash him.

Babu was killing it! Had nothing to do with cash or sponsors..

dunno i was not there, just sayin that babu was not that good the 2 past season but for the first ill probly blame the carbu setup.. but nvm ill check that out at st-eu im happy to see that babu is now good enough to make a podium

+@ jag u dont get my point! babu have a good car and enough cash now if he have skill, he will probly become one of the best in qc
and yes it has something to do with sponsor+cash cuz if u dont have both and if you want to do most the event you'll never push the car his maximum without beiing scared of crash it or broke something

Depuis que j'ai commencer dans la drift en 2007 y'a du monde comme toi qui me jugent. C'est pas parce que je fais de la Tv et de la radio que je ne mets pas de mon temps ou de mon argents! Nous ne sommes pas aux États-Unis. Je suis comme presque tout les pilotes, j'y investis tout ce que j'ai. Et je ne me plein pas. J'adore la drift, les fans les pilotes et tout ce qui si rapproche! Je crois que je fais du bon travail pour faire connaître le sport! Donc SHUT THE FUCK UP! Et juste comme ça tu dis que le problème l'an passée était mon carbu. Ben t'es dans le champ parce que j'ai un LS depuis 2 ans!*

honnetement moi meme qui a couvert la saison lan passé on jokait de babu qui plantait souvent son char ou le char brisait!!! la semaine passé a Montmagny, Babu a fermé la gueule a tout le monde Moi compris... et jai eu un osti de plaisir a le filmé parceque meme si il a fini 3ieme... il a donné un des meilleurs show de tout les saison de dmcc que jai vue!!!
