This will put Mac users in their place

Vis tu encore en 2006? Installe le dernier Ubuntu avec Chrome. C'est plus compatible que des Macs.

Ah oui?

FUCKING LOL

How can you say that Mac OS, a real UNIX distribution worked on by professional software engineers, is inferior to Linux, a derivative of Unix worked on by enthusiast programmers some of which have no formal training

Boggles the mind.

Mac OS X is not a unix distribution, but a modified version of NeXTSTEP, which was a project using the mach kernel (unix derivative), with part of freeBSD and netBSD (which are both unix derivative again)

in fact, a good part of Mac OSX is open source. And there is no part of Unix in OSX, pretty much like linux. They are obth linux derivative.

And do not understimate linux, it started as a hobby, but its now the most used operating system (it's not because it's market share is not situated in PC that it's the less used one).

And even then, the PC share started to rise in the last years. Even whole governments have decided to switch to linux over stability, security and costs concern

TL;DR : stop talking out of your ass and check your fact before bringing an argument

Funny how only Windows, Android and Linux people need to start thread bashing at Apple.
When did a Apple guy started a thread on bashing about your computer ? You all have sand in your pussy ? You need to prove something to your mama ?

Me no, but I do have an issue with some people calling Mac OSX as a true unix, when it's only a derivative who have a certification.

And anyway, different OSes, different need (but I still favor Linux :p)

haha your funny, what we have a problem with is ifags touting apple as the next coming of jezus... gimme a break! it has its own shortcomings just like all the other OS's same shit with linux boys claiming that linux is THE BEST which that OS has its own shortcomings also...also I hate both of these geeks hatin on windows when its a great operating system that has grown and become more and more better and STABLE which is why it has 90% of the market and Apple/linux/other OS doesn't... don't get me wrong I'm not saying its perfect but it isnt as bad as the others are bashing it to be!

BITCH PLEASE.

My iMac was sent out for "repair" and FS lent me out a "loaner" PC Laptop. First, I could not connect to WIFI.. After trying 10 times, it finally worked.. Then after 10 or so minutes, disconnects, reconnects. THIS IS A BRAND NEW LAPTOP with ZERO Malaware. They took a NEW, SEALED BOX and gave it to me. The next day, I connected to my network like nothing was... not an issue. The following day, connect-disconnect for a good 45 mintues. POS!!!!
Before heading back to FS, I did a littel research on the net, I litt, had 5 minutes before the wifi gave away and it's a COMMON ISSUE. WOW. Good Quality Control and Build Quality.. LENOVO POS!
Went back to FS and bitched about my loaner beeing defective. Gave me an other one and I had no connection issues. Three days later, as I was doing some browsing on MR, out of nowhere, again, new unit, sealed from the shelves, no programs installed, wasn't multi processing.. it went BSOD on me. I turned off the computer and went outside.

I was a happy camper when I got the call that my computer was "fixed". 27 inch iMac and I will be using this as my T.V shortly(why spend 700$ for a new TV when I barely watch it? )

This is a real life situation: My good friend has a 2010 Macbook (Glossy White) 13 inch, nothing crazy. He is a personal trainer and does training videos for his clients. Long story short, his trackpad stopped working. I go with him to the Apple store and while the "Tech" was verifying his problem, she turns the laptop and calls "Tony" "Tony" comes and they exchange a few "Yeah...???" "Yeahhhhh....!" "Yeah?" "Yeah!" My friend and I look at each other,.... what the fuck!?!? There was a product defect under the laptop and they are known to crack around the Ethernet port, hinges and near the trackpad. She said to him: "Even though your laptop is no longer covered, we will change all the shell for you at no extra cost. You will have to pay for the trackpad, but not for the rest". THIS is why you pay more for APPLE. It is the after sales service. With ANY PC crap ass company, you would be told "it's not our problem" and those companies almost force you to toss out your "old" machine for a newer one.

Just for this, APPLE has a good place in my books. It's crazy how people see customer service when you walk out of the Apple store, knowing that if u had to pay for the repairs that my friend had done on his laptop, it would of costed him 500$. At that point, he was extatic and with reason.

Code 18 maybe?
You know where the problem is 18 inches in front of the computer :p

Lucky I don't bash windows because I use it :p But I usually switch OS depending on what i'm doing,
usual tasks : linux
Gaming : Windows

Just as a note, Linux is still more stable than windows, the only problem is OS fragmentation, too many different distribution for one operating system do not really help (althought different distributions caters to different need, it doesnt help that there is nearly no centralization at all),

I have a IMAC 27'' and no one else has the image quality I have

Currently using a Sony Bravia KDL 32S3000 as a monitor with a RAdeon HD5700 (got it 2-3 years ago).

mfw watching porn/playing starcraft on it for the first time

There you have it, Windows might not be, but UBUNTU is better than Macs.
I'm a Mac user and I approve this message. :)

I LOVE Ubuntu. Been using every distro since Breezy on my laptops. I do have an iMac at home and a MBP at work because I need to run some Mac-only software, but Linux has always been my favorite OS. Been using Linux since Red Hat 6 back in the late '90s.

I'm no fan of Windows. I was actually glad when they changed my work computer from windows to a Mac. At least i have a UNIX system now.
