Event Coverage: DriftFest- July 14th

Over the weekend DriftFest took place over at the Autodrome St-Eustache. DriftFest is a 2 day massive drift event with 2 hardcore days of drifting with a big party/camping in between.

Can someone please explain why drift cars have no hoods/bumbers/fenders?

I don't follow the Driftscene, so someone shed some light cause I don't understand.

They bang up their cars pretty badly.

This way, they don't break a perfectly good bumper/hood when they scrape the walls.
 
I would hope when I'm out there scraping wall I'm not dragging my front end to begin with....The reason we took our hoods off were because of the engine temps. I dropped from 220F to 170F just from taking my hood off. Other had no front fenders because they were getting excessive amounts of lock and the fenders were at that point pointless.

Facile à comprendre le fait de rouler pas de hood, le moteur est dans le red line à 90% du temps à moyenne et basse vitesse. Certain setup surchauffe avec un capot tandis que sans capot sa se tien juste parfait.
 
JAG c'est le meilleur!! mais crime personne a pris de photos samedi vers 6-7h ? y'avait des drift train de 5 a 7 chars !!??!!
