The reason the track is called 1983 is because it's SUPPOSED to sound dated.

Does anyone remember a track from the 1980s that was called 19? It was supposed to be about the average age of the American soldiers sent to Vietnam and Korea. The whole song was nineteen, nineteen, nananananine nananineteen, ininininin Vietnam it was nininini...etc.
