Airplane Thread

Very cool but those aircraft are made for that! I like the Maule

Distances will increase on what you are taking off / landing on/ how much beer you're hauling for hunters :)

Some pics I took at YUL earlier this summer.

I lived at YUL last summer.

so you were kinda like Tom Hanks in The Terminal? One of my TOP movies ever by the way, if any of you haven't seen it, you should! Not plane related, but airport related :)

Nice pics guys. I know fuck all about planes but starting to get excited about it and its beginning :p

I saw it way back in 2004. Was filmed at YMX

Back when mainline served YUL... It wasn't that long ago..

AA mainline still does YUL-DTW-YUL YUL-MIA-YUL. I loved seeing AAs Maddogs coming in, they always shined in the sun.

I am a frequent flyer with Emirates, in fact I am a proud Skywards Gold member. Out of the 61 flights I did in 2012, I flew 38 times with EK. I agree that the flight crew is much better looking than most airlines (unless you dig the asian chicks, then go for thai or singapore airlines ) and I think the overall experience with EK is by far one of the best. New planes, huge food portions with good selection and overall great service. Sometimes I fly with other airlines because I have no choice and usually realise that the little complaints I may have against EK are nothing. I flew air china, singapore airlines, thai airways, malaysian airlines, philipine airlines, quantas, virgin, lufthansa, qatar airways, KLM, air france, etc... EK tops them all in my book. Their airport lounges are also very nice.

You guys should try them at least once in your life.
Completly agree on that. However, I haven't tried that many airlines...

Yup, the beginning was filmed here at least, when we see a large rectangular-ish room (forgive me, I don't recall if departures or arrivals) and he begun shaving lol. I believe the rest was filmed at an airport in NY.

I'm sure y'all got the right info down! Sweet pics guys!

I liked the TSC L-1011-5 parked at the gate in many scenes :) Nearly all the "airport" scenes were filmed at YMX while the terminal stuff was shot on a set. My biggest gripe with movies using aircraft and airports that if you're going to use a stand in for JFK.. at least make it look like JFK and use an airline that has a big presence at said airport. United Airlines which is prominent in the film isn't a major player at JFK(ORD would have been more accurate) and Delta for JFK would have been the better pick :)

Bond know's how to do it right... The flight numbers, routing and aircraft are correct.

He would arriving on PA1, B747-121 PA1 and PA1 were marketed as "All around the world flights"

Another example.. AF operated Concorde CDG -CIG via DKR

I have a lot of time on my hands to figure this stuff out...

"Pan Am Worldport" or today Delta T3 is a complete dump...

Good.. It should be grounded. Battery fires have brought down aircraft before, imagine being over the pacific and having the battery fire?

Point is long live the 767!
